Chapter 6
After the irregular demon incident in the dungeon had finally settled down, Japan began to regain a sense of calm.
Because of the live broadcast by the #1 Ranked Hero Party, the entire world had now learned of the existence of the Black Knight.
Many began searching for his identity—
some sought to recruit him for their own nations,
others called him a dangerous threat that needed to be eliminated.
Speculation and debate filled the air,
ranging from admiration to fear,
from gratitude to hostility.
“Phew… at least my daughter survived this time,”
murmured the Prime Minister of Japan.
“But now, I owe the Americans a huge favor…”
The Prime Minister’s daughter—was the Saint.
When the crisis struck, he had requested a rescue from America’s #2 ranked explorer team.
In desperation, he even told the U.S. President:
‘If you can save her, I’ll grant any favor you ask.’
His daughter’s life meant that much to him.
But now, though relief washed over him knowing she was safe,
the Prime Minister couldn’t help but dread the unreasonable demands that would surely follow.
His heart sank completely.
The Hero Party, including his daughter, was kept in the hospital for a week for observation.
From the very first day, all tests showed no abnormalities—everyone was perfectly healthy.
One of them, the Tank, even mentioned that his old scars were completely healed.
If that’s true… then the “Elixir” that the Black Knight used must have been a mythical-level healing potion.
Such things don’t exist in this world—
or at least, they shouldn’t.
Yet, the entire world had seen it live on camera.
At this point, there was no longer any hiding it.
A person who possessed such an item—
someone who could use that kind of power—truly exists.
It was broadcast live, worldwide, on YouTube.
The Black Knight.
Whichever nation could make him their ally…
would rule the world—
no, perhaps even go beyond it.
To think—
he freely offered not one, but four bottles of that legendary Elixir,
to save others, asking for nothing in return.
And besides that… his strength, his knowledge, his technology—
there’s too much about him that’s unknown.
“The time has come to pick up your daughter from the hospital,”
said the beautiful secretary.
“Ah, right.”
The Prime Minister got into his luxury car and headed for the hospital where his daughter awaited.
“Papa!”
She ran up and hugged him tightly.
“Your mother’s making dinner at home,” he said gently.
“Come on, let’s go home.”
In the car, she spoke softly.
“Papa… I want to thank the Black Knight.”
“Yes… I know. But…”
He looked out the window.
“We haven’t heard a thing from that man.
Has he contacted you?”
“No…” she said, shaking her head.
The air in the car grew slightly heavy.
“Well, I’m sure you’ll meet again someday,”
he said at last.
“He was a remarkable person.
Maybe it was God himself who sent him to help you, because you were such a good girl.”
“Yeah! He was amazing!
But… ugh, I can’t believe all those embarrassing moments got streamed online…”
“That’s not true at all.
Everyone was moved by how you never gave up until the end.
Though, as your father… honestly, I wish you had just run away.”
“I’m sorry!
But I couldn’t abandon my friends!”
“…I see. You’re right.”
“I want to become stronger, Papa!
I’ll work even harder on my healing magic—
and one day, I’ll be the one saving people!”
The dungeon world is a place of personal responsibility—
People abandon teammates, betray one another; it happens all the time.
But even so, that’s the risk they all accept.
And yet… his daughter had grown into such a kind, noble girl.
He couldn’t be prouder.
“I see… but promise me one thing—don’t push yourself too hard.
We can’t be sure the Black Knight will come to save you next time.”
“Okay~! But I’ll be really happy if he does come again!”
Maybe it was the glow of the setting sun—
or maybe the memory of that video she’d watched over and over again—
but as she imagined the Black Knight,
the Saint’s cheeks flushed softly pink.
Meanwhile—
“Achoo!”
The Black Knight sneezed.
“Alright! Time to skip class again and go back to Japan!!”
The day of the Black Knight’s return to Japan—
was drawing near.
