Chapter – 71
“Design Event”
And then the day of the event finally arrived.
Godai said, “I’ll help out,”
and decided to participate together with us.
Since we were bringing Phos along,
Grandma had been making a fuss since the day before, saying she would come too.
When we called Phos over,
Ruri spoke to him.
Turning to face Phos, who had climbed up and sat on the sofa, she said,
“I think it might still be hard for you to understand, Phos,
but can you promise not to talk about magic or fairies when we’re outside?”
“Can’t I talk about them?”
“That’s right. Mommy, Phos, and the fairies
are a little different from the people who live here.”
“Hm?”
Phos tilted his head.
“It’s hard for you, isn’t it?
But you see, to live here, there are rules… promises we have to follow.
So magic and fairies are a secret just between Mommy and Phos. Okay?”
Phos thought about it for a moment, then nodded with a smile.
“Okay.”
This child is smart.
He thinks about many things and comes to his own conclusions.
I don’t know whether living here is truly the best thing for him, but
if we can’t return to the kingdom,
hiding forever wouldn’t be good for him either.
Ruri stepped down from the sofa
and watched Phos playing with his toys.
Considering Phos’s physical condition,
we decided to have him eat gemstone cuisine regularly, like supplements.
Ruri also eats them constantly
to increase her magical power.
According to the fairies,
Earth’s environment is apparently quite harsh.
It’s not that he’ll get sick or die,
but for Phos, whose body isn’t fully developed yet,
it’s best for him to eat them now
to build immunity to life on Earth.
Once he can use magic,
his body will naturally adapt on its own,
so until then, it’s probably best to rely on the power of gemstones.
Ruri’s magical power is also outstanding,
even among other mages,
and lately she’s been able to create entirely new magical dishes.
The fairies were wide-eyed in amazement at that as well.
“To think you could create such magical cuisine…”
“What’s going on with Ruri’s magic power?”
Bron and Pure looked up at Ruri.
I’d like to know that myself.
What Ruri came up with were gemstone smoothies
and gemstone candy.
The smoothies are delicious enough to replace a meal in summer,
and even when drunk alongside a meal,
they go smoothly into the body,
naturally building up magical power.
The fairies said they were “delicious,”
so now we make them regularly and drink them together.
She also tried making gemstone shaved ice.
She magically shaved gemstones into ice
and poured gemstone syrup over it.
This too turned out fluffier than regular shaved ice,
like snow,
and Phos and the others happily ate it as a snack.
She could probably open a wildly popular restaurant
in the Gemstone Kingdom.
As for candy,
she made gummy candy, the fairies’ favorite.
That way, it’s easy for Phos to eat too.
The magical power that accumulates in the body doesn’t diminish,
but instead strengthens the entire body even further.
If Phos’s life truly is being targeted,
then when the time comes,
the magic power he’s stored up
may be what saves him.
