Yonekura’s Visit
She placed a bookmark in her book.
“Today, we’re also doing live sales,” Haruki said.
“Really?”
Ruri was surprised by Haruki’s words.
“It’s like people who couldn’t come here in person can still buy things with the same live feeling? I think this series will sell out.”
“That would be great. I’ve been thinking of a few designs for the next batch, too. Depending on how well these sell, I’ll put those out as well.”
“That makes sense. In the handmade industry, there are lots of creators, so it’s better to expand the designs that sell well.”
Ruri looked up thoughtfully, just as Haruki had suggested.
“Exactly. Before this event, I went to another one for market research. Recently, the trends in popularity differ quite a bit between events and shops. Even online, there might be biases in what’s popular.”
“I see,”
Midori nodded in agreement.
“So if this sells well, will you show us your new designs?”
Taichi asked, just as the organizer began the opening greetings.
It was almost time for the customers to start arriving.
“Well, I’ll head back to the booth then.”
“I’ll do my best so we can get a raise,” Midori joked, making everyone laugh as the event officially began.
Ruri’s booth immediately drew a crowd, and Phos also helped boost sales.
“Helping your mom? That’s so admirable!”
Compliments made Phos beam with pride as he chatted happily.
Being a prince of the Jewel Kingdom, perhaps the glow that radiated from him was different.
Everyone smiled as they listened to Phos talk.
“This child is the real deal,” Ruri wanted to shout.
If the kingdom had been functioning properly, this child would have been the rightful heir. He should never have been erased…
Ruri thought this as she watched Phos enjoying himself so much.
The event lasted three days.
Ruri participated for two days, while the company attended all three, and both came out in the black, much to Ruri’s relief.
As Haruki predicted, the popular accessories sold out completely.
Ruri’s “Little Beans” and resin water flow series also almost sold out in just two days, giving her the feeling of receiving a special bonus.
The fairy designs became a hot topic, and companies even reached out.
Accessories made by the real deal seem to make everyone’s hearts leap, making them want to pick them up.
Customers at the booth were all shining-eyed as they bought the items.
When Ruri told the fairies about this, they were overjoyed.
To reward their hard work, she bought cakes from a famous shop they had wanted to try for a long time.
As the company gained recognition from the event and Ruri’s designs got on track, Yonekura suddenly contacted her and came to visit her home shortly afterward.
Ruri led Yonekura into the living room.
“Please, have a seat.”
Yonekura sat down on the sofa and looked at Phos playing in the Japanese-style room.
“Is that the child you took in?”
“Yes,” Ruri replied, then offered,
“Here you go.”
She served iced coffee.
“Thank you. I’ll have some. This year’s heat has been extreme, hasn’t it?”
Yonekura said, taking a sip.
