CHAPTER 89
Is It Okay to Let People Self-Destruct? It’s Okay, Right?
What if Idnia shamelessly gave out all the jobs by herself?
If anyone agreed to that, it would be like signing a slave contract with their own hands.
But still, no one could openly complain about Idnia’s decisions just yet.
“Well, I’m sure Lady Idnia will divide the tasks fairly,” said Crown Prince Rudolf with a calm smile.
“And even if there’s a problem later, we can always fix it. We’re all students, after all. Mistakes will happen, and we should try to solve them kindly.”
He agreed with Idnia’s leadership—but also cleverly left room to back out later if needed.
Idnia understood what he really meant.
‘That was a strategic statement. He’s agreeing for now, but he’s saying that if something goes wrong later, it’s just natural conflict among students—not something to hold a grudge over.’
Idnia admired how politically skilled Rudolf was with his words.
With Rudolf agreeing, Carl and Lorenzo had no choice but to follow.
And so, Idnia was officially chosen as the leader of the Wizard Ball Club, and given the right to manage all labor and harvest distribution.
She now held real power—but if she didn’t manage it wisely, it could damage her reputation instead.
“Alright, I’ll divide the crops fairly. But I think everyone should process the crops themselves.
For example, if we harvest wheat or corn, I’ll split them up evenly just as they are.
But turning them into flour or meals—that’s up to you.
Why? Because peeling or processing food right away makes it spoil faster.”
“Uh, I’ve never really done farming or cooking myself…”
“In the future, when your dorm collects coins and buys its own equipment, you can use it to cook and process your food.
We’ll be harvesting more than we need, so it’s fine to let other students in your dorm help with cooking.”
Everyone was impressed by how far Idnia had thought ahead.
“Oh, and just to clarify—the alchemy equipment over there is mine.
I didn’t have enough personal space, so I stored it here for now.
Please allow me to keep it here for just two months.
Yes, the professors supported me, but I set all of this up on my own, starting from an empty field.”
“……”
“Uh…”
Everyone was stunned.
Idnia built all this?
Even the turnip farming looked like a huge task.
She could’ve claimed it all for herself, but instead she kindly asked for temporary permission to use part of the room.
‘She’s so generous.’
‘Wait, she built all that? It looks brand new, though…’
Actually, the professors did most of the work, but Idnia worded it vaguely to make it sound like it was hers, even though she planned to share.
Still, she wasn’t lying.
But someone spoke up: Isolde.
“Wait a moment. I don’t think we should be so vague about using shared space for personal things.
I know Lady Idnia has worked hard and deserves to use the space.
I don’t need it anyway.
But if others want to leave personal items here in the future, how will we decide who can and who can’t?
We need clear rules.”
She wasn’t wrong, and she wasn’t harsh—but her words directly challenged Idnia.
And then…
“To avoid fights over work, why don’t we just divide the garden into four parts—one for each dorm?”
“Yeah, that way each dorm manages their own crops, and there won’t be any complaints. So clean and simple!”
Isolde’s friends—Nora, Kate, and Mina—jumped in.
They wanted the garden split evenly by dorm.
“……”
Idnia was at a loss for words.
“…Lady Idnia? What should we do?” Marie asked, worried.
Persifier and Cristian from Eurus dorm were shocked at the boldness of the other dorms.
“Wait, all of this—the garden, the room—was prepared by Lady Idnia. And now they want to divide it up?”
“She turned a rocky field into this rich soil, and they just want a share of it like it’s theirs?”
Marie added, concerned,
“Um, have any of you actually done farming before? If we follow Idnia’s plan, I can help you all. But if we split it up… that won’t work as well.”
If they split the garden, Marie couldn’t guide everyone.
But Isolde’s friends looked at her and nodded.
“It’s fine.”
“We’re mages. We don’t farm like normal peasants. We’ll use magic!”
“Farming with magic is good training for us, too.”
“We’ll miss out on expert help, but we want to try using our creativity as mages. Hohohoho!”
“Yes, we’d feel bad if we asked a commoner for help.”
Idnia nodded.
“I understand. Prince Rudolf, does this mean Zephyros dorm will manage its own section?”
“Yes. My dormmates and I want to explore agricultural magic on our own. I was researching it anyway.”
Rudolf came from a rich farming region and had long studied agriculture. Now, with Isolde and the others showing interest, he couldn’t go back on his word.
He also wanted to test his own methods.
“Well, if that’s the case…”
“Let’s each do it separately,” Carl and Lorenzo agreed.
“Alright.
Then we’ll also split up the remaining club room space by dorm.
I’ll move my alchemy tools to Eurus’s section.”
Idnia said it with a slightly sad face.
*‘Wow. This is amazing.
I was worried about being seen as greedy, so I offered to share everything…
But they gave up the space themselves! I’m so lucky.’*
✧✧✧
To be honest, Idnia was thrilled that they wanted to split the garden.
She could’ve handled the entire field herself.
She only suggested sharing to avoid looking greedy and drawing jealousy.
But they rejected her offer?
‘They might regret it later, but since they made the choice, they won’t be able to argue strongly. Alright, the garden issue is solved…’
Just then, a sharp boy’s voice echoed outside the Wizard Ball club room.
“There you all are! Perfect timing—I wanted to talk to you.”
It was Professor Buremhyde.
All the students immediately tensed.
Especially Carl from the royal Gustaf family—he and his followers glared like drawn swords.
“Hmm. A prince of the Empire and heirs to ruling families. What a star team.
The Wizard Ball fans across the Empire will be thrilled.
So, I registered you all in the amateur 4th division league.”
“Wait… what?”
Idnia was shocked.
“If I’d been any slower, you would’ve missed the whole season!
Good thing I got there in time!”
“Wait, you already signed us up for the league?
Without even asking us?”
“Why would I ask?
You joined the Wizard Ball Club, didn’t you?
Then you play Wizard Ball.
Don’t worry.
You’re good enough to dominate the 4th division.”
Rudolf raised his hand.
“Yes? You have a question?”
“When’s our first match?”
“Tomorrow afternoon. Don’t worry—your classes will be rescheduled.
I’ll also arrange your travel and prepare everything you need.
You just need to practice and play with passion!
Easy, right?
You’re lucky to be on a team with such strong support.”
“……”
So basically, students who had never even held a bat were being thrown into a real game tomorrow.
While everyone was still stunned, Buremhyde raised his staff.
“Well then, let’s practice for tomorrow’s match!”
In that moment, their vision blurred.
A few seconds later…
They were standing in the middle of a vast green field.
“Huh?”
“Where are we?”
“This is the Char Plains of the Vikrant Empire. Within a 300 km radius, there’s nothing but a few tents.
Perfect for training Wizard Ball.
But warm up first—we don’t want injuries.”
“I just came to check out the room today. How did we end up here…”
They were all confused, but since they had already been magically transported far away, they had no choice but to follow Buremhyde’s plan.
“Um, Lady Idnia? What do we do?”
Marie asked nervously.
“We have no choice but to go along with it.
All these Wizard Ball fanatics really do go crazy when it comes to the game, don’t they?”
Idnia sighed and calmly began her warm-up.
✧✧✧
“Alright. So I just swing this bat, right? Easy.”
Carl fitted a bat adapter onto his wand.
“Okay, throw it, Professor Buremhyde.”
As Carl said that, a crack appeared on Buremhyde’s smiling face.
“Haha… I’m just pitching slow balls for training.
If I threw seriously, the batter could die…”
“I don’t care! Full power!”
“……”
At that moment, all the students stepped away from Carl.
Idnia also moved aside and positioned herself to protect Marie and the others.
‘These northerners really don’t care about their lives. That temper of Carl’s…’
Buremhyde sighed and picked up the ball.
“First rule of Wizard Ball!
Only the pitcher and batter can use magic during the pitch.
Everyone else, stay out of it.”
He crossed his arms.
And at that moment, the ball launched forward with astonishing speed.

Tomorrow afternoon?! Hopefully the professor properly explains the rules 😂 Regarding the greenhouse, I also can’t wait to see what Idnia’s endgame is. I’m sure it’ll be something spectacular. Thank you for the update ❤️
Thanks for the love , glad you’re enjoying😊
