Chapter 13
Reborn as the Greatest Genius of a Swordsmanship FamilyĀ
After the Sword Tomb Ceremony ended, those who had completed the ritual were allowed a day of rest.
Granted a night at the Northern Sword House mansion, [Banapen], everyone was quietly assigned their own rooms.
“If you need anything, please donāt hesitate to ask.”
Bowing politely, the servant received only a silent nod from Luin as a reply.
Creak⦠thud!
With the sound of the door closing, Luin quietly stared at the hologram flickering before him.

“Wow, theyāre really giving it out without holding back.”
As Luin blankly observed the endless explanations, a familiar voice reached his ears.
[This is cheating! This is a scam!]
With the Sword Soul thrashing wildly, Luin shrugged.
“Whatās cheating? I passed the trial fairly.”
[Trial? No! I was trapped from the start. How could a line cursed by the “Swordās Curse” appear there?]
“I told you before. My mother is from the Kaftalen family. The swordās curse runs in their lineage. Itās innate; what can I do?”
[Ugh, I donāt care. Send me back to the Sword Tomb, you fraud!]
“Should I have lit a fire there earlier?”
[Madman. Youāre truly insane!]
“It canāt be helped. After all, that madman became your master.”
Thunk!
Muttering to himself, Luin tapped the sword strapped to his waist.
[Ah! Donāt touch me!]
“I donāt want to.”
Thunk!
[Iāll curse you. Iāll curse you for life!]
“Huh? Didnāt you just remove the curse yourself?”
[Kyaaaah!]
No mere argument could defeat the Sword Soul.
“Talk all you want, trapped in a back alley or a grave for hundreds of yearsāyouāre no match for me.”
Chuckling internally at the Sword Soul, Luin turned his gaze to the room assigned to him.
It was grand and antique, a far cry from the small hut he had lived in for the past ten years.
“So this is the heart of the Reinhardt family, huh?”
As he slowly walked and surveyed the room, the voice of the Sword Soul sealed within the black sword spoke again.
[Not a country bumpkin, yet gawking around like that?]
“I am a country bumpkin, you know.”
[What?]
“Iāve only lived in a rural hut⦔
Since being reborn as Luin, he had never left the hut built by his parents, Kabel and Daisyāuntil being called to the Reinhardt Sword Tomb Ceremony.
[Then you must be a branch family member?]
“No, direct lineage.”
[Then why live in the countryside?]
“I wonder about that too.”
“The union of Reinhardt and Kaftalen children alone would shake the entire continent.”
Yet for the past ten years, it seemed that Kabel and Daisyās union had remained a secret.
“Well, I can roughly guess how it went.”
[So, what kind of person are you?]
“Hmm⦠One who passed the Sword Soul trial?”
[Ughhhh!]
Laughing quietly at the Sword Soulās frantic outburst, Luin gazed out the dark window.
“Nothing is set in stone yet.”
All he knew was that his father, Kabel, had left the Reinhardt Sword House on his own feet, causing disfavor among the family.
“Iāll ignore whatever they say behind my back, as long as I donāt hear it.”
If anyone insulted Kabel or Daisy to his ears, it would not end with mere scuffles inside the Sword Tomb.
“Iāll make sure they can never wag their tongue again and regret it for life.”
A severe vow once made by the legendary Shadow 1872.
“After a hard day, letās get some rest.”
Just as he was about to throw himself onto the soft-looking bedā
Knock.
“Hm?”
Turning to the sudden knock, Luin activated Tenno Mubou and detected the presence outside.
“Meirin?”
The energy sensed belonged to the girl who had saved him from falling in the Sword Tomb.
“Why is she here again?”
Knock, knock, knock.
Muttering as the knocks continued, he frowned.
“Haa⦠this is not easy.”
He had no intention of forming personal bonds in Reinhardt, where so many disliked his parents.
Yet, he reluctantly opened the door.
Bang!
“Youāre inside.”
The blonde girl Meirin smiled slightly as she muttered.
“What is it?”
Luin asked sharply, suspicious of the sudden visitor. Meirin seemed a bit flustered but nodded calmly.
“Since the Sword Tomb Ceremony is over, I came by to greet you.”
“Greet me?”
“To thank you. I donāt think I properly said thanks before. Of course, I brought something too.”
Holding a neatly wrapped box, she smiled awkwardly. Luin shook his head.
“No, itās fine. Thatās enough.”
Luinās firm tone made Meirin frown slightly but she composed herself and spoke again.
“Haa⦠well, I want to personally show my gratitude. Can I come in?”
“Why bother?”
“Itās just⦠better than talking outside.”
“As I said before, Iām not here to receive your thanks. Thatās enough. You should just go.”
With that, Luin shut the door firmly.
Click, thud!
Meirin reached out, holding the door.
“Hey, you.”
“ā¦?”
Her tone completely changed.
“Who do you think you are, being so rude?”
“What?”
Though her eyes were hidden, Luin sensed the fire blazing in them.
“Haa.”
She drew a deep breath, her gaze burning as he expected.
“No matter the situation, I came here to speak directly. But whyā¦!”
She struggled to control her rising emotions.
“Honestly, Iām grateful to you. But if you keep acting like this, even I have my limits.”
Her casual tone made Luin smirk.
“So?”
“What?”
“I feel like my rest is being interrupted just to receive your thanks. Iāve already tolerated quite a lot, havenāt I?”
“Well, I⦔
“I already said I wouldnāt receive thanks. Whoās the uninvited guest ignoring that?”
Meirin froze, staring blankly at him.
“And then you call me rude? Whoās really lacking manners here?”
She couldnāt hold back and screamed.
“Hey, wait! You!”
“If you keep yelling, go back to your room and stop disturbing others.”
Click, thud!
The door shut.
“Aaaah! You bastard!”
Thudding sounds came from the door as Meirin slammed it.
“Loud voice, huh.”
Luin chuckled softly, listening to her continued pounding.
“You shouldnāt act like this, young lady.”
Someone intervened.
“Let go! Iāve never met anyone ruder than Seron! Let me go!”
The commotion subsided.
“Tch, shouldāve gone quietly when told.”
The Sword Soul finally spoke.
[Haa⦠even her temperament resembles that guyā¦]
“Do I really resemble Belion that much?”
[Shut up, you damned fraud!]
Ignoring the Sword Soulās rant, Luin shook his head.
At last, he lay on the soft bed, ready to sleep after a day full of Tenno Mubou training.
“Finally going to sleep?”
Bang!
Luin startled at the sudden voice in the dark.
“Who⦠who are you?!”
Even Tenno Mubou couldnāt detect them.
“Damn, if itās an enemy, Iām already dead.”
The voice replied:
“No need to be so cautious. Iām not here to harm you.”
From the shadows emerged none other than Damon, head of the Reinhardt Sword House and master of the North.
