Chapter : 27
I began moving the blood that surged within me, drawing a massive magic circle in the air.
It was a fairly complex and difficult task, and I could feel my energy draining rapidly—but I couldn’t stop now.
Finally, after finishing the last stroke, I shouted,
“Haaah!”
and poured all the mana I had into the magic circle.
The circle, drawn in blood, quivered and began absorbing the mana at a terrifying speed.
“Ugh…”
A groan escaped my lips.
I was prepared, but this is no joke…!
I had always prided myself on my mana being as vast and deep as the sea, but today, it seemed I had finally met a formidable opponent.
Gush, gush, gush!
Mana was being drained relentlessly, and cold sweat formed on my forehead.
I couldn’t even wipe it away, forcing myself to maintain focus until the very end.
Several minutes passed in that state.
“Phew…”
The charging must have finished, because the circle stopped absorbing mana.
I exhaled deeply and lowered my outstretched arms.
That was a little tough~
Still, I had overcome the biggest hurdle. From now on, the remaining tasks would go smoothly.
I took out the map I had been holding and double-checked whether the markings matched the spots in the empty field.
After this simple inspection, I thought,
Shall we go?
With a grin, I activated the magic stored in the circle.
Then—
Ku-gu-gu-gu-gung…
A faint vibration rippled through the air, and little by little, houses began to pop up.
I clenched my fist in satisfaction at the magic that had successfully worked.
Nice!
Any houses that were slightly crooked in the middle were carefully adjusted with telekinesis.
With a few minor tweaks, dozens of houses were neatly arranged into a full housing complex in no time.
It had all happened far faster than it had taken me to charge the circle with mana.
“Wow!”
I planned this, but seeing it like this… it’s spectacular~
I clapped my hands in admiration and then stepped into the very first house.
As expected, the interior was exactly the same as the sample house I had inspected with the villa staff a few days ago.
Looking around, I couldn’t help but smile.
“Perfect.”
It was worth it to draw the duplication magic circle myself, with my own blood!
For reference, my construction plan was quite simple.
First, copy the finished sample, then just paste it onto the empty land—done!
Why spend money on large-scale construction unnecessarily?
I could make a more perfect sample with that money and copy it several times!
That would save time and money!
It was truly the best cost-effective construction possible.
Of course, there aren’t many mages in the empire who could do something this absurd.
The driving force of magic is desire.
The purer and more selfless the desire, the exponentially stronger the resulting magic.
And as for me, no one was more transparently in love with money than I was.
The desire to earn money by copying these houses resonated with the magic.
On top of that, I used the potential dormant in Eani Nasel’s body and the blood-drawn circle!
These three elements combined perfectly, creating such a successful result.
Exiting the first house, I cheerfully examined the others.
How meticulous… even the lawns and tiny lights in the yards are identical~
All dozens of houses had been copied perfectly, not a single one damaged.
My magic that successfully completed the task was impressive, but using high-quality materials from the magic tower for the samples also contributed.
Those materials were incredibly expensive… my hands even trembled holding them.
But because each one had mana carefully infused, the copies turned out so well.
This investment was worth every penny.
“Alright~ let’s continue with the remaining areas~”
With Line A complete, it was time to move on to Line B.
Line B would have a sample house with one more room than Line A.
Of course, the sample for Line B was already copied.
With the floating red magic circle, I passed Line A and headed for Line B.
Hehe~ the sky is clear, the sea is beautiful, building a resort is easy~
I hummed a tune as usual.
“This can’t be real.”
“That’s the third time you’ve said that~”
“Ah, sorry. I just… I can’t believe what I’m seeing.”
Bellin spoke as she looked around the perfectly symmetrical houses.
Just yesterday this was a barren field… and overnight it changed like this…
She muttered as she tapped the fence, as if trying to confirm it wasn’t an illusion.
“The magic I knew wasn’t real magic.”
This, this was real “magic”!
Bellin’s eyes sparkled as she looked at me.
She had always been loyal, but this was the first time she had seen my abilities firsthand.
She must be truly impressed.
I chuckled softly and spoke.
“I am indeed a skilled mage. But I can’t let the construction workers know I’m a mage, right?”
“Of course! I’ve already told others that Eani hired other mages you’re familiar with, so no need to worry.”
I nodded at her words.
I still needed to keep my identity as a mage a secret for now.
The Magic Tower really dislikes personal mages. If more of them appear, their monopoly breaks.
If rumors spread, they’d likely pressure me to join the Tower.
But joining meant more restrictions.
I had no plans to join, at least for now.
There aren’t many mages capable of handling such large-scale magic anyway.
Once the resort opens, it will be impossible to hide using simple excuses…
But I had prepared excuses for that moment.
Until then, I’d keep my secret diligently.
“Eani, should I start laying the roads as marked on the map?”
Bellin’s question pulled me from my thoughts.
She had turned her gaze from the houses to the map I handed her.
“Yes. The roads and sidewalks need different heights and different bricks. You can manage this without me, right?”
“Of course! I’ve already informed the architects and workers, so there should be no major issues. They also said road construction is easy for them.”
“Please also handle the small finishing touches~”
“Yes! I’ve often helped my father with finishing work, so I’ll make sure the results are satisfying!”
I smiled contentedly at Bellin’s response and turned toward the villa.
“It’s almost time for the new guests to arrive, so I’ll head back. What about you?”
“Ah! If it’s alright, I’d like to look around a bit more! I want to inspect the house interiors too!”
“Hmm… a day off is meant for resting, isn’t it~?”
I wished she would rest, but… I understood her feelings.
This area is visible from the villa.
She must have been very curious. Even while I was working, she kept sneaking glances.
She had been so desperate this morning that she begged me:
“-Eani! I’ll behave, but if you’re inspecting today, please take me with you!”
She was so insistent that I let her see the early reveal.
I hadn’t expected such a strong reaction~
It was nice that my employee was passionate, but I didn’t want her overexerting herself.
Bellin was resolute.
“Inspecting here is my way of resting!”
“Oh my~”
She had always been businesslike and stoic when assisting me, but now she was enjoying herself like a child.
I smiled, patting her shoulder.
I really am lucky with my staff.
“Ah—”
Bellin blushed, understanding my words immediately.
“Compared to you, Eani, my enthusiasm is nothing.”
“Huh? Me?”
…Well, I had worked hard too.
I practically lived in the library to acquire this knowledge, traveled the island to practice magic, and even created a full villa complex.
Trying to earn money without this effort would be deceitful.
No wonder my subordinates admire me.
Especially when this subordinate was to be the general manager of the resort I had planned—it was perfect~
I smiled and turned toward the villa.
“Take your time exploring~”
“Yes, Eani! Thank you!”
Even a “thank you”~
Heading back to the villa, I mentally checked the points that still needed attention in the resort.
We need small buggies for easy travel inside the resort. Prepare a large pool in addition to each villa’s private pool. The kitchen can handle the restaurant, but the laundry facilities are lacking, so we’ll need to expand.
And other details, too.
With the opening approaching, it was time to focus on finer details.
Honestly, experts in each field would be better for this, but…
