I let out a deep breath.
“So… I’m destined to be executed in six months.”

I almost used a slang word from my previous life, but I quickly corrected myself.
“…Yes, I’m very happy.”
I crossed my arms and sat back primly, but my eyes didn’t stop darting out the window.
The train was picking up speed, leaving the platform behind.
“So this is what traveling feels like…!”
Before starting the trip, I felt my heart pound with excitement.
Because it was a feeling I’d never experienced before, I wanted to enjoy this moment fully.
Sophie watched me fondly.
“They say we’ll get welcome drinks and food right after departure. Once we’re done, let’s go explore the train.”

I smiled brightly at her.

Second-class cabins were designed for two people, with long chair-beds arranged side by side.
If you were a solo traveler, you had to share the room with another passenger, but it still felt private enough.
“From here on is third class,” Sophie said, glancing back at me at the entrance.
