Chapter 14
Shalala, Poof! The Magical Boy Appears! (2)
When Rudolf said he didn’t know what was going on, I shouted at him in disbelief.
“When did I ever say I wanted to sleep with you, you crazy magical boy?! The one I like is Ruby! My cute little cat!”
I swung my fist at him like I was trying to knock some sense into him. Unfortunately, Rudolf caught my hand mid-air and stopped me.
Just one hit… Just one good, hard punch—that’s all I wanted. And just as I thought that, a deafening bang rang out. Weizen had fired his gun.
Even if he was skilled, wasn’t it a bit much to shoot right away when his precious younger sister was right next to him? But seeing how his face had turned red as if his blood vessels were about to burst, I couldn’t say anything.
Is he going to burst a blood vessel in his face at this rate?
I turned my head, intending to ask Ian for help since Weizen clearly needed to calm down, only to lock eyes with Ian, who had thrown his sword like a spear.
Seeing the veins in Ian’s eyes bulging with rage, I regretted even thinking of asking for his help.
“Put Odelia down. Right now. Ruby.”
“If you don’t want to die—”
Both men cursed, though in the most “polite” way they could manage, and I opened my mouth to tell them both to calm down.
But before I could, my vision went pitch black.
Like flipping a page in a book, the two of them—and the entire scenery—vanished. A new place unfolded before my eyes.
“It was too noisy,” Rudolf said, as if answering my confusion.
He let go of my waist, then gave a polite little bow, welcoming me.
“Welcome to the Magic Tower, Odelia.”
His neat actions, his gentle tone, his beautiful appearance.
With the perfect combination of all three, for a moment I thought I was dreaming.
But then Rudolf snapped his fingers. The neat indoor clothes he was wearing turned back into the pajamas from last night.
“No one to interrupt us now… Everything’s mine to decide.”
With a lazy voice and licking his lips, he spoke, dropping the polite smile he had just shown.
His seductive expression sent shivers down my spine.
What the hell is this situation? Now it’s kidnapping?
At least Ian tried to imprison me after answering my requests like a gentleman! But Rudolf? No explanation. No pretense. Just straight-up kidnapping!
This didn’t happen in the original story!
I barely had time to process the sudden deviation from the plot when Rudolf stepped in close and said:
“Well then… Shall we sleep now?”
“Let me go home, you thug!”
Meanwhile…
Rudolf Märchen.
One of the male leads from the novel “Flower-Handed Boys”, and the master of the Magic Tower. A genius wizard, a beautiful killer, the tower’s natural disaster, the untamable hunting dog, a human weapon… The list of nicknames went on.
And above all, he had long, snowy white hair and crimson red eyes that seemed soaked in blood. His beauty was so lethal, it looked like he could slap a goddess with his right hand and then stomp on her with his left foot.
In terms of looks alone, he was easily the most beautiful of the four male leads.
But… he had a terrible personality.
That was Rudolf Märchen.
And now, that man was lying peacefully, sleeping in my arms.
Why? Why is this happening to me? Get up. Let me go back home.
“Mmm…”
As I lamented my life, Rudolf stirred in his sleep. He curled up in my arms like a cat and I took a closer look at him.
He was way prettier than Ian.
Shivering like he was cold, Rudolf snuggled deeper into my arms. The blanket was half-off. Probably because most of it was wrapped around me.
I tried to pull the blanket over him out of pity, but my limbs were tightly bound in the sheets to stop me from escaping.
I twisted this way and that, trying to free my arm, but failed. After a bit more struggling, I gave up with a sigh.
Suddenly, memories of Odelia and Rudolf from the original novel resurfaced.
Honestly, Rudolf was always a bit more special to Odelia than Ian was. Odelia considered him… a friend.
Their first meeting was in an alley behind the central marketplace.
As always, kind-hearted and soft Odelia ran into a poor, begging child with no parents. Feeling sorry, she casually handed over two gold coins. That’s where it all started.
Like a typical cliché, a thug who had been watching her good deed tried to threaten her. That’s when Rudolf, passing by, stepped in and saved her.
From there, their relationship began.
Innocent Odelia saw their connection as friendship, while dark-hearted Rudolf mistook his interest as mere lust.
That initial meeting spiraled into kidnapping and imprisonment.
I really wanted to dig inside the author’s brain and ask: Why?!
I was trying to figure out how to sweet-talk my way home when cold fingers touched my cheek.
“Not sleeping?”
“Huh? You’re awake?”
Startled, I answered informally, and Rudolf chuckled as if he found me amusing.
“I asked first.”
So what?
I gave him a look like, “Yeah? And what are you going to do about it?” and Rudolf buried his head in the pillow, laughing.
“I want to get up now—”
“No. Sleep more.”
Rudolf pulled me into his chest and patted my back. The monotonous, emotionless gesture brought me back to my senses.
“This is suffocating. Let me go.”
“No. Sleep. You’ll grow faster.”
“You’re the one who grew weird! Let me go! I’m not going back to sleep!”
I shoved Rudolf’s face away as he leaned closer.
Maybe Odelia wouldn’t have minded this since she didn’t hate Rudolf.
But I’m not Odelia, and I know this is a dark, R-rated, angst-ridden novel. Resistance was mandatory.
I wasn’t about to end up as another “Oops, I let my guard down and now I’m screwed” statistic.
“So what will you do then?”
Still struggling inside the sheets, Rudolf suddenly grabbed my chin.
His bright red eyes locked onto mine, making my whole body tense.
Wasn’t red supposed to symbolize passion? Why did Rudolf’s red eyes feel so cold?
Unable to stand the predator-like gaze, I looked down.
Not because I was shy. Just… because I didn’t want to see him. Yeah.
“It’s because I have something to think about.”
“Like what.”
“Like… when you’re finally going to let me go home.”
“I’m not letting you go.”
“What?!”
Startled, I jerked my head up—wriggling like a fish caught in a net.
Why can’t I go home?! Is this seriously turning into a full-on kidnapping and confinement route?
As I flailed, Rudolf’s grip on my chin tightened—just enough to make it hurt.
Ow! My jaw! It’s going to come off!
Tears welled up in my eyes as I glared at him, but Rudolf just looked down at me, like… “So? What are you going to do about it?”
“I said I need to go home!”
“Why.”
“Annie and Lucy are waiting. And my brother will worry too.”
“…The Crown Prince too?”
“That guy? I don’t know. But I guess he might worry?”
At the sudden mention of Ian, I tilted my head in disbelief.
Ian wasn’t even my family. Who cares if he worries or not?
Friendship should stay light and casual. If someone starts sulking because you didn’t worry about them, it just makes relationships exhausting.
Rudolf closed his eyes for a moment like he was thinking, then climbed on top of me.
“Then let’s do this.”
“What the hell, what?!”
“Just give me three kids, and I’ll let you go.”
With that shocking declaration, Rudolf ripped off the sheet that had been binding me.
I spaced out for a moment, then snapped back to reality as his hands moved to untie my pajama ribbons.
Honestly, from the moment I possessed this body, I felt like every male lead in this novel was just desperate to get Odelia’s body.
I quickly raised my knee to kick him where it hurt—but Rudolf dodged faster and got up.
Damn it. That was my best shot at ending this physically.
“Tsk.”
I clicked my tongue, and Rudolf looked at me wide-eyed.
“What were you just trying to do?”
“Erase your breeding instincts.”
“Because you never want to come back?”
“No, because I believe in premarital chastity. Back off.”
I twisted my lips into a grin, and Rudolf laughed like I was ridiculous.
In that moment, his eyes burned—matching their crimson color perfectly.
With a frustrated sigh, Rudolf slowly lifted his head.
“Looks like you’re under some delusion just because I saved you once. I just want to get rid of this disgusting feeling.”
“Oh, how classy.”
Wow. Real poetic.
I suddenly wanted to meet his parents and ask who taught him to talk like that. But considering he was an orphan… that was impossible.
Gritting his teeth in irritation, Rudolf crawled toward me with a warning glare.
“Why are you making it this hard when I could solve everything with one night.”
Biting my lip, I knew things were getting dangerous.
Even though Rudolf never used force on Odelia in the original story, he was still a man.
If he decided to overpower me, there was no way I could stop him.
So… I had already decided not to fight with brute strength.
I remembered the old saying: “A word can repay a thousand debts.”
I opened my mouth carefully.
“What exactly is this disgusting feeling?”
Rudolf stopped in place.
The only reason he ever locked Odelia up and tormented her… was because he didn’t know what love was.
Odelia, filled with love, thought they could be friends the moment she met him—a great, powerful being.
But Rudolf was different.
Raised in the Magic Tower as a perfect magical weapon, Rudolf was numb to human emotions.
Heart, warmth, love, friendship, family affection, understanding…
The Tower never taught him any of that.
Yet standing in front of a pure, innocent person… Rudolf’s heart had no choice but to tremble.
Some deep, locked-away emotion had stirred inside him.
But without knowing what emotions were… he mistook that trembling for desire. He probably thought if he satisfied that desire, everything would go back to normal.
Unfortunately for him, that method was doomed from the start.
He destroyed Odelia, desired her, possessed her… but even until the moment she closed her eyes, he never realized that what he felt… was love.
He only knew how to live as a weapon, eternally thirsty for something he didn’t understand.
That’s why… I decided on a new plan for dealing with Rudolf: The Teacher Strategy.
“Tell me… I’ll teach you everything.”
You cute little deer. I’ll teach you what love is!
