Synopsis
The one and only debutante day at the royal palace of her life.
Giselle, a minor noble from the outskirts, accidentally collides with the prince and ends up sharing a brief, unintended kiss.
But to her, it was nothing more than a tiny incident.
“How dare you…”
A small, heart-pounding mishap that could be laughed off.
“Goodness… a wretched little… pony of a thing.”
To this prince, it seemed to be the worst experience of his life.
What began as a small accident quickly escalates into a scandal, and the prince proposes a temporary engagement to Giselle to manage the situation. Bringing gold as part of the deal, the prince asks what she wants in return…
“On the condition that you play the role of my fiancée, you want me to give you a husband?”
“I came all the way to the capital to find a husband to bring back to my estate, after all.”
The prince’s face twisted in an expression of inexplicable displeasure.
He then lectured her on how difficult the role of a fiancée is, criticizing her behavior. Even though it had been just an accident, he still assumed her kiss was intentional.
“Honestly… I don’t really understand why you’re making such a fuss over just one kiss?”
The prince, whose face looked like no needle could ever pierce it, chose only words that would make anyone angry—but then he froze.
“Was that kind of contact really that significant? During the past few days at what they call the balls, everyone has done far worse, so what’s the big deal?”
“…What?”
“I thought it was just a small incident. Was I wrong? I really don’t understand what’s so unfair about it…”
Giselle glanced at the gold still sparkling at the prince’s feet, enticing her, and slowly stood up.
There’s no need to ruin a good deal by making the prince uncomfortable just before it’s finalized. She clasped her hands politely and bowed her head.
“I will do my best.”
There’s nothing she can’t do when she’s being offered both money and a husband—the two things she needs most right now.
“In return, I’ll also take as much as I earn for my efforts.”
Giselle met the prince’s narrowing eyes squarely.
“If I do well, give me more money.”
And she smiled brightly.
“Lots of it.”
Seeing a woman smile so shamelessly, Joachim realized—
A mutant, uncontrollable force had invaded his perfect greenhouse.
