Prologue
Once upon a time, long long time ago, there was a kingdom called Syenn on the continent of Muo.
You say there’s no such place? Oh, come now—didn’t I say it was a long, long time ago?
One day, a beautiful princess was born into that kingdom. Her hair and eyes were bright and golden like sparkling gold.
The princess grew up beloved by her kingdom, and when she came of age, there was a celebration. One where fairies and dragons had even been invited, but lo and behold, an uninvited sorcerer appeared.
What? You’re asking if it was a witch? Tsk, tsk. Child, listen here: old witches aren’t the only ones who get jealous of beautiful ladies.
In any case, the sorcerer feared the princess’s growing magical powers, which surpassed his own, and so he cast a spell upon the Kingdom of Syenn.
Oh, yes. A curse. It was a curse, that’s right.
From then on, towering thorny vines began to grow in the Syenn Kingdom, and it became a land where ordinary people could no longer live.
What happened to the princess, you ask?
