Chapter 65

Thud.

A man’s arm fell to the ground.

“Arghhh!”

Russo rolled around on the deck of the ship, screaming in excruciating pain.

Katrina, drenched in cold sweat, turned to look at the red-haired man who had suddenly appeared.

Tightly shut lips.
Blazing bright yellow eyes.

Ah.

Silas had arrived.

He was furious, completely losing his reason.

“Don’t let him get away!”

Russo shouted, his bloodshot eyes glaring at Silas.

The rest of his gang drew their weapons and boldly rushed at Silas.

“Die!”

One of them swung a huge club down at him—
but in an instant, the sharp blade cut through the air, slicing cleanly.

“Huh…?”

The club split neatly in two.
The man stared blankly at the smooth cross-section—when Silas’s fist smashed into his face.

“Arghhh! It hurts!”

The man screamed in pain after being struck by Silas.

Now, none of them dared to attack him again.

Everyone staggered back in fear.

But Silas’s yellow eyes still burned with murderous rage.

“Ahhh! We were wrong!”

“Spare us, please!”

It looked as if Silas was about to kill them all.

No!

If he killed them, there’d be no undoing it.

“Silas, stop!”

Katrina cried out desperately.

If he killed them, the entire island would become their enemy.

It would put both of them in danger.

“Silas, please!”

But once Silas lost control, he no longer listened to her words.

And so, everything went wrong.

Katrina stared blankly at the horrific sight before her.

…Silas had killed them.

He stood in the middle of the blood-soaked ship.

Staring absentmindedly at the moon in the night sky, as if lost in thought.

Katrina tried her best to stay calm.

“Silas, let’s leave now.”

After this massacre, the islanders would never leave them alone.

In the normal world, Silas’s actions might have been considered self-defense.

But here, in this lawless place, Silas was nothing more than an intruder who had murdered their comrades.

“We have to go, Silas.”

She tried persuading him again.

“…Please, let’s go.”

She didn’t know what he had come to this island for, but leaving was the only choice.

It was in Silas’s best interest too.

But Silas gave no reply.

Katrina grew frustrated.

“Silas, wake up! We can’t stay here!”

She shouted at him.

She couldn’t understand why he hesitated to act.

“…Katrina.”

He finally spoke, his voice low.

“You go back to the tent first.”

“What?”

“I’ll take care of it.”

Is this bastard insane?

He had just slaughtered people—what was he planning to ‘take care of’?

After losing control and swinging his sword like that, what could he possibly fix?

“Silas, you can’t fix this.”

Katrina said firmly.

“Even on the boat—you didn’t plan anything! You just react when storms or rain come, barely surviving each time…”

Her voice shook as her chest tightened. The situation was unbearable.

“Handling problems is for people who know how to handle them. You can’t.”

She looked at him, drenched in blood.

How could he possibly deal with the corpses?
How could he possibly clean up his ghastly state without anyone noticing?

“…Go back to the tent, Katrina.”

But Silas only repeated himself.

Katrina snapped.

Slap!

Her hand struck his cheek, making his head turn.

Slap!

Not satisfied, she slapped the other cheek as well.

“You’re saying even after all this—you still won’t leave the island?”

Enough was enough.

She didn’t know what was keeping him here, but if the islanders found out, they would both be hunted down and killed.

That much was certain.

Nothing was more important than survival.

“Fine, stay here if you want.”

She no longer bothered trying to persuade him.

“What do you mean?”

“I’ll leave on my own.”

“…”

“I don’t want to die because of you.”

Silas simply stared at her in silence.

Katrina met his gaze and continued.

“You already know. Somehow, you know that I’m not from this world.”

“…”

“You also know that I want to go back.”

Yes—Silas knew everything.

“I have someone I love in my world.”

“…Someone you love?”

Yes. Han Seoryeong had family.

The aunt who raised her.

Seoryeong, in her own way, loved her aunt.
Her aunt, though not as affectionate, still cherished Seoryeong.

If she disappeared, her aunt would search for her with all her strength.

There were countless reasons Katrina wanted to return to her world—
but her family was one of the most important.

“I have someone I love… so yes, I want to go back.”

Silas muttered under his breath.

“Someone you love…?”

“So that’s why you want to leave?”

But his lips twisted bitterly, his mood darkening.

He strode toward her.

“Just give me a little time.”

“What?”

“I’ll really take care of everything.”

What did he mean by that—

Thud!

Silas struck the back of her neck.

Katrina collapsed, unconscious.

When she opened her eyes, Katrina was back inside the tent.

That crazy bastard.

So this was his choice instead of escaping?

Was he out of his mind?

She immediately rushed out of the tent. She had to find Silas.

But when she stepped outside—

“You traitors! How dare you betray us?!”

The islanders were furious.

“You insolent bastards!”

Their leader, Angele, roared in anger.

“Do you know how long it took us to build that ship? And you dare steal it?!”

…What?

Katrina quickly grabbed one of the islanders nearby.

“If Charlotte hadn’t told us, we would’ve never known!”

The people were shouting, their fury spilling out.

At first, Katrina didn’t understand what was happening.

She had expected the islanders to want them dead after Silas’s massacre.

But as she listened to their words, she pieced together the truth.

Ha. Unbelievable.

To stay on this island…

Silas had pinned the crimes of the slaughtered criminals onto them, branding them as traitors.

“This outsider lady… I hope we didn’t cause you unnecessary distress.”

Angele, the island’s leader, finally noticed Katrina’s presence after venting his anger.

He was the most favorable toward outsiders.

Of course—his ornate clothes and glittering accessories were all gifts from outsiders.

I wonder which of those came from Silas.

The thought crossed her mind.

“Ahem. Have you enjoyed your stay on this island?”

Enjoyed it?
It had been nothing but stress.

“Yes. Thanks to you, I’ve had a good time.”

“That’s good to hear.”

“By the way… do you happen to know where my lover has gone?”
