Chapter :8
You Donât Even Have 600,000 Yen of Pocket Money?
Bai Shuqin and Guan Ruirui were kicked out before they could even step into the Jiang familyâs house. The incident didnât even cause a stir among those staying in the villa.
Meanwhile, Jiang Su, humiliated by what had just happened, left the villa with Lu Xuexi. As they walked down the garden path, he tried to comfort her.
âDonât feel bad, Sister Xuexi. Brother Huai is just being biased. You even gave up your room for him, and he still talked to you like that. Just because she got recognized, does that suddenly make her so great?â
Lu Xuexi sighed softly and said in her gentle voice,
âXiao Su, I know you mean well, but donât say things like that. I was never truly a daughter of the Jiang family. Everything I had was originally meant for Xuxu. What Brother Huai said wasnât wrong.â
âWhat are you talking about? To me, youâll always be my only sister! That Guan Xuxuâ I donât accept her!â
As they were talking, they suddenly heard Guan Xuxuâs voice nearby.
âThis madam here carries a karmic burden. If itâs not resolved, it could affect your familyâs feng shui. If Father is willing to pay, I can resolve it. Just 600,000 yen.â
They turned around to see Guan Xuxu speaking earnestly to Aunt Wu, holding up three fingers as she explained.
She had stopped Aunt Wu in the first place to dispel the dark energy surrounding her. Now that the irrelevant people had left, she could finally do her work properly.
Although she had returned to the Jiang household, Guan Xuxu wasnât in the habit of asking people for money. But if she could help someone cleanse bad energy and earn enough for her university tuition, all the better.
Even between father and daughter, money matters should be clear.
Standing nearby, Jiang Yucheng and Jiang Huai were both caught off guard by her sudden change of topic.
After all, feng shui and the occult seemed like things that had nothing to do with Guan Xuxu.
They thought she was just strapped for cash and using feng shui as an excuse to ask for pocket money.
The thought made them both feel a little guilty.
Had any Jiang child ever lacked even 600,000 yen of allowance?
Without hesitation, Jiang Huai pulled out his phone.
âJust 600,000? Iâll send you 2 million. If itâs not enough, tell me.â
Not to be outdone, Jiang Yucheng immediately straightened his expression and reached for his own phone. He was going to send 3 million â it wouldnât do to give less than his son.
But as soon as he took out his phone, he realized â he didnât even have his daughterâs contact information yet.
Hearing their words, Guan Xuxu instantly realized they had completely misunderstood.
âIâm serious,â she said firmly.
âI know, I know,â Jiang Huai replied with a gentle smile, the kind people use to indulge a child.
Aunt Wu, though startled at first, quickly recovered and said with exaggerated politeness,
âSo youâre saying I have karmic ties, young lady? Then please, by all means, help me resolve them.â
Guan Xuxu: âŠ
Could these adults maybe show a little respect for my profession?
Still, this wasnât the first time sheâd been in this situation.
Just as she opened her mouth to speak again, a mocking laugh cut through the air.
âHow can you say such ridiculous things? Scamming people for a measly 600,000 yenâ shameless.â
Absolutely disgraceful.
Jiang Su couldnât hold himself back any longer. He had just been scolded earlier, but he couldnât stand watching Guan Xuxuâs behavior any more.
Lu Xuexi hurried after him, taking his arm apologetically.
âXuxu, Xiao Su didnât mean what he said. Please donât be angry.â
Guan Xuxuâs eyes passed over the two of them without emotion. She didnât respond â she simply turned back to Aunt Wu.
âThe marriage line in your fate palace is broken. You likely lost your husband when you were young. But you have one son. Judging from your features, that son is currently facing a calamity â something related to money.â
Guan Xuxu wasnât especially skilled at face reading, so she could only state the basics.
But even these simple words struck Aunt Wu like lightning.
Especially the part about a money-related misfortune â her eyes flickered for a brief moment.
Guan Xuxu continued,
âNormally, your personal karma wouldnât affect the masterâs household. But your fortune is subtly tied to the Jiangsâ⊠You are stealing the Jiang familyâs wealth.â
Her final words were full of quiet certainty.
Aunt Wuâs body trembled violently.
Impossible. It couldnât be. There was no way this girl could know what sheâd doneâŠ
At first, Jiang Yucheng and Jiang Huai had listened as if it were a childâs joke. But her tone â so serious, so confident â and that final accusation made both of them look at her a little differently.
Lu Xuexi, noticing Aunt Wuâs startled reaction, looked surprised.
âAre you saying Aunt Wu stole from the Jiangs?â
She sounded incredulous, rushing to defend the woman.
âThatâs impossible. You must be mistaken. Aunt Wu has been with the family for nearly ten years â sheâd never do something like that.â
Aunt Wu, though panicking inside, quickly put on a pained expression.
âYoung lady, please donât say such things. I would never steal from the Jiangs. Everyone in this house knows Iâm not that kind of person.â
Then she turned to Jiang Su.
âMaster Su, please, believe me. I would neverâŠâ
Covering her face, she began to sob as if her heart were breaking.
Jiang Su, still young and impulsive â and having been cared for by Aunt Wu since childhood â couldnât help but be moved by her pitiful display.
His anger flared as he glared at Guan Xuxu.
âWhatâs wrong with you? Aunt Wu would never steal from us! You just came here today, you donât know anything about our family, and yet you spout lies to cheat tens of thousands of yen from my uncle? How low can you get!?â
To him, Guan Xuxu was a stranger heâd only met today, while Aunt Wu was practically family.
Of course heâd side with the person he trusted.
And in his heart, his dislike for this âcousinâ deepened even more.
Lu Xuexi also spoke up,
âThis must be a misunderstanding. Did Aunt Wu maybe say or do something that upset you?â
Her words carried the subtle implication that Guan Xuxu was using her position to settle a personal grudge.
Hearing this, Aunt Wu seemed to catch on immediately. She began to sob even harder.
âYoung lady, you must be angry because Madam Guan mistook me for your birth mother earlier, right? Iâm just a lowly servant â how could I be compared to you? Itâs only natural for you to be upset. But to accuse me like this⊠Iâm old. If people say such things about me, how am I supposed to live?â
