Chapter – 55
None of Your Damn Business
Qin Mo’s archery skills were indeed nothing special, because he had never truly trained in archery at all.
However, with that blade intent existing in his mind, his arrows naturally became incomparably domineering. Coupled with his own strength, it resulted in such terrifying destructive power.
“Aren’t you trash? How can you have two thousand jin of strength?”
On the ground, a squad leader from the Frostleaf Tribe asked, his face still filled with shock and disbelief.
Although Frostleaf suffered a crushing defeat in this battle, no one had died. This was because Qin Mo had held back. He realized that the reason this invasion occurred was most likely due to his excessive hunting in Frostleaf’s territory some time ago.
Of course, another reason he hadn’t killed anyone was that no one from the Hammerstone Tribe had died either. If Hammerstone had suffered casualties, the outcome would not have been what it was now.
Even so, Frostleaf’s losses were severe. Two squad leaders were crippled, especially Wang Si, who had been nailed to the tree.
This squad leader’s confusion was shared by everyone present, including Little Fatty and Qin Li.
Little Fatty’s face was filled with deep admiration, along with a trace of embarrassment—because earlier he had said that once he awakened, he would protect Qin Mo.
With Qin Mo’s current strength, it was obvious that no protection was needed.
Qin Li, on the other hand, kept his head lowered, unable to face Qin Mo. The more viciously he had mocked Qin Mo before, the greater the contrast he now felt in his heart.
“Because I’ve already opened ten acupoints,” Qin Mo said calmly.
He had always displayed the strength of ten opened acupoints—it was just that no one had paid close attention.
Since he had decided to step in, he naturally had to reveal some strength, otherwise it would truly arouse suspicion.
“So the clan leader really did give you that two-star peak Savage Bear core,” said the Hammerstone squad leader, suddenly enlightened.
The matter had been rumored in the tribe before, but no one believed it. Now, they did.
“A two-star peak Savage Bear core!”
The people of Frostleaf also understood. If one refined a Savage Bear core, possessing such strength was reasonable.
Still, they were shocked. After all, Qin Mo had white trash blood—how could he open ten acupoints so quickly?
Moreover, his strength clearly exceeded that of ordinary ten-acupoint cultivators. Even if he had opened them to the limit, he was still five hundred jin stronger.
But the Savage Bear was a powerful ancient beast, so they attributed it all to the effect of the core.
“We admit defeat. All the prey we hunted today belongs to you,” the squad leader said after a long silence.
It was impossible for them to leave unscathed. They had invaded Hammerstone’s hunting grounds first. Winning would have been one thing—but they lost, and the other side had clearly shown mercy.
At this point, the Hammerstone warriors all fell silent, including their squad leader. Everyone looked at Qin Mo, waiting for his decision.
Even if Qin Mo were to say that all the Frostleaf warriors should be killed, they would not hesitate to raise their blades. They had every reason to reject Frostleaf’s offer.
“Besides that, I also want his bow,” Qin Mo said, staring at Wang Si, who was still nailed to the tree in agony.
He hadn’t been joking earlier. He truly felt that the bow was extraordinary—just a gut instinct. So he wanted it.
“Can you change the condition?” one of the Frostleaf squad leaders said grimly.
They knew the bow was no ordinary item. Even if they didn’t know exactly what it was now, they would eventually.
When Qin Mo made this demand, the one with the ugliest expression was Wang Si.
Qin Mo crippling one of his arms didn’t matter to him—but he couldn’t bear losing the bow. He knew very well that his archery skill existed solely because of it.
“No,” Qin Mo replied bluntly, his words carrying an invisible, tyrannical authority.
The meaning was clear: either the people leave and the bow stays, or everything stays.
Given the situation, Frostleaf had no room to argue. They could only agree, rescue Wang Si, hand over the bow to Qin Mo, and leave while supporting one another.
As they watched them depart, the atmosphere became quiet. Even the Hammerstone squad leader didn’t know what to say. Who would have thought that the young clan heir would be the one to change everything?
“We got so much loot—shouldn’t we celebrate a bit?” Qin Mo said as he put away the bow and looked at everyone.
His words lightened the mood. The warriors laughed—not forced smiles, but genuine ones.
Today was destined to be a day of great harvest.
Excluding their original prey and adding the confiscated spoils, they had over five thousand jin of game.
That didn’t even include the fifteen hundred jin Qin Mo had hunted himself.
As for the distribution, everyone unanimously agreed that it should all go to Qin Mo. After all, he had turned the tide and reclaimed Hammerstone’s honor.
Qin Mo didn’t refuse, but he only took half, returning the other half to the squad.
On the way back, Qin Li kept his head lowered, though he carried the most prey.
As they neared the tribe, he suddenly quickened his pace and caught up to Qin Mo.
“I take back everything I said to you before,” he said.
After a brief silence, he gritted his teeth.
“I’m sorry.”
Without waiting for a response, he seemed to shed a heavy burden. Looking relaxed, he hoisted the prey and strode toward the tribe.
“That guy actually apologized?” Little Fatty said in surprise.
Qin Mo was speechless, but he could feel that Qin Li’s apology was sincere.
It was just a small episode, and soon they returned to the tribe.
They were the last hunting squad to come back. When the tribe members waiting outside saw them, their mouths fell open in shock.
They were carrying far too much prey.
“They caught so much! Look—there’s even a Savage Elephant!” people exclaimed.
That Savage Elephant, weighing about eighteen hundred jin, was carried by a squad leader and another warrior. It was the prey contested with the Frostleaf Tribe.
“This squad probably hunted the most out of all squads in the tribe,” someone said.
“With the Savage Elephant included, at least five thousand jin,” another guessed.
“My Sacred Emperor—one squad hunting five thousand jin in a single day!”
Wherever they passed, people stared at the Savage Elephant and the other prey.
Qin Mo and Little Fatty walked at the back, carrying much less, and were largely ignored—which suited Qin Mo just fine. He wished no one recognized him at all.
“Look, it’s Little Fatty! Haven’t seen him all day—so he was in the last squad. He really did his father proud this time,” someone said.
Soon enough, others noticed Qin Mo, who had kept his head lowered since entering the tribe.
“The young clan heir is here too? Didn’t he hunt alone?” someone asked.
“He probably ran into danger and got rescued by the squad,” another replied.
There was no mockery, but no one believed Qin Mo had hunted much. After all, hunting relied on squad cooperation. Even with a thousand jin of strength, hunting alone was dangerous.
Soon they reached the armory.
All prey had to be registered there. By the time Qin Mo’s squad arrived, only two squads remained.
One of them was Qin Yu’s squad. Having opened ten acupoints, Qin Yu was already a squad leader.
Before Qin Mo’s squad arrived, Qin Yu’s team had the most prey this hunt. But when he saw the Savage Elephant and the rest, his expression changed immediately.
Squads always competed. Qin Yu thought he had secured first place—only for a dark horse to steal the spotlight.
“Not bad, Zhao He. Looks like you brought back about five thousand jin this time,” Qin Yu said.
Zhao He, the squad leader Qin Mo had saved, smiled bitterly and didn’t know how to respond, so he said nothing.
This made Qin Yu’s face darken. He thought Zhao He was doing it on purpose and felt resentful.
But he couldn’t pick a fight—Zhao He’s squad really had hunted more. Doing so would only humiliate himself.
Just as Qin Yu was about to leave, he spotted a familiar face at the back of the squad.
Qin Mo was carrying a five-hundred-jin mountain boar, speaking quietly with Little Fatty.
Qin Yu stopped, a smile forming on his face.
As Qin Mo passed by, Qin Yu stared at the boar and said,
“Isn’t this the young clan heir? Oh? You actually caught prey? But… is this really yours?”
The entire squad stopped.
Zhao He turned back, shook his head, and said nothing.
Qin Li hesitated, wondering whether to warn Qin Yu, but knowing Qin Yu was doing this deliberately, he stayed silent.
The other warriors watched with interest.
After the earlier battle, Qin Mo had already become a towering figure in their hearts. Qin Yu’s sarcasm disgusted them, so no one explained anything.
“Heh,” Qin Mo chuckled, saying nothing more.
In Little Fatty’s eyes, that “heh” carried deep meaning—he knew exactly what it meant.
But in Qin Yu’s eyes, it was helplessness and weakness.
So Qin Yu continued,
“I heard the young clan heir always hunts alone. Why did you come back with Zhao He’s squad this time?”
The implication was clear: Qin Yu believed Qin Mo had encountered danger and been rescued.
Qin Mo didn’t respond immediately. He simply dropped the mountain boar to the ground, brushed the dust off himself, looked Qin Yu straight in the eye, and said:
“None of your damn business.”
The simple reply plunged the crowd into silence.
Everyone knew Qin Yu and Qin Mo had fought since childhood. If Qin Mo hadn’t been discovered to have white trash blood, Qin Yu might never have been able to compete with him.
Now, after years of silence, Qin Mo had suddenly said this in public.
Was their war starting again?
Qin Yu clenched his fists, wanting nothing more than to punch Qin Mo in the face—but he restrained himself.
With a smile, he said,
“Indeed, it’s none of my business. But young clan heir, you didn’t just fail to hunt prey—you even dragged down the hunting squad. Don’t you feel ashamed?”
“Heh,” Qin Mo smiled again, hoisted the mountain boar, and walked forward.
The tribe members felt disappointed. In their eyes, Qin Mo’s departure was a sign of weakness.
Yet none of them left. Like Qin Yu, they stayed behind—waiting for the show to continue.
