Chapter 8
‘What was that?’
While turning the bracelet around in my hands, my heart started beating fast again.
‘If he’s the main male lead, does that mean he’s the male lead? Did I accidentally get involved with him?’
I quickly shook off the anxious thought.
There’s no way something as small as wiping a bit of blood from his hand could mean anything serious.
It must’ve just been a little episode in the bright, shining life of the male lead.
‘Sirinyu should only walk on a flower path…’
Just thinking of Sirinyu’s handsome face made my anxiety fade away and my mood brighten.
I just saw him a while ago, but why do I already want to see him again? Is this… love?
I climbed into bed, hugged the soft blanket as if it were Sirinyu, and slowly drifted to sleep.
Before I fell asleep, I reminded myself of the golden rule of office workers:
“If something happens, deal with it then.”

Three Days After Possession
“Being reincarnated into a novel is the BEST!!!”
The best hotel in the world — Hotel Reincarnation! Five stars! I’d totally leave a glowing review!
It had been three days since I entered this world, and I was living my best life ever.
Why? Easy.
If I just stayed still, my room got cleaned for me, my clothes were washed, my bathwater was prepared, and my meals were served — for free!
Even my mom never treated me this well.
This was heaven. A true paradise for homebodies.
Of course, it wasn’t like I started ordering the servants around right away — I still wasn’t used to a world with nobles and servants.
But even when I made little mistakes, the servants didn’t seem to care.
So, I decided to stop worrying about being found out as a “possessor.”
I wasn’t dying, I wasn’t poor, and no one was trying to sell me off — so why stress?
The only thing I couldn’t understand was—
“Miss, I’ll open the windows for some fresh air!”
—why they cleaned my room three times a day.
“I can clean my own room. You don’t need to.”
When I finally said that, my maid Ruri looked like she was about to cry.
“If I did something wrong, please tell me, Miss. I don’t want to lose my job…”
Her teary eyes made me feel guilty.
After all, she was basically a young worker just starting her career.
‘Taking away a young person’s job would be too cruel…’
Still, three cleanings a day was way too much!
So I asked the head maid to make it once every three days instead — and use that time to bring meals to my room.
Since the food here looked like full-course meals, I had been eating well,
but suddenly, I felt bad thinking about all those dirty dishes they had to wash.
“Wouldn’t it be easier to make a simple one-dish meal? Easier to serve and to wash!”
The head maid just pressed her lips together and said nothing.
Whatever — I was sure they’d come to love it later.
Anyway, the food was amazing, and whenever I got hungry, the maids magically appeared with snacks or bread.
No work. No deadlines. No stress.
I could nap all day, eat snacks, roll around in bed — and still have time left in the day!
When I missed my phone and felt dopamine withdrawal, I just opened the window a little.
From outside, I could hear the servants chatting — apparently there was a popular hangout spot nearby.
Their gossip was so entertaining that I lost track of time listening.

Hot Topics Among the Servants
The biggest news right now was about Lady Kalat and Lady Erilleon — apparently, they fought a lot.
Those names sounded familiar… weren’t they the heroine and the villainess from the original novel?
“I don’t get it. If they hate each other that much, why do they keep going to the same places?”
“Maybe deep down, they actually want to be friends?”
“…You don’t grab someone’s hair in public if you want to be friends.”
“True.”
Wow. So they literally fought with their fists, not just words. Kind of impressive…
“By the way, I heard a monster appeared near the capital’s outskirts.”
“Probably Duke Lifrix took care of it.”
When they mentioned Duke Lifrix, my ears perked up.
“Yeah, probably. I’d love to see him slay a monster in person.”
“I like the Crown Prince better. I can’t wait to see who becomes the Crown Princess!”
“I heard Baroness Bruel is really chasing after him. Maybe she wants to be his mistress?”
“She’s shameless. I lost count of how many men she’s dated already.”
This was so fun.
Every time someone mentioned the Crown Prince or the Duke, the servants squealed with excitement.
That made me curious about the Crown Prince, too.
If he was considered on the same level as Sirinyu — one of the main male leads —
then he must be really good-looking.
‘He’s probably the opposite type of Sirinyu… maybe kind, cheerful, and puppy-like?’
As they say — you can never have too many handsome men!
I couldn’t wait to see his face someday.
Though, realistically, I’d probably never get the chance.

A Peaceful, Lazy Life
When I got bored, I went to the library to borrow books.
The maids tried to get me to do “lady-like” hobbies like flower arranging or embroidery,
but… I’m terrible with my hands.
I decided not to waste innocent flowers or expensive thread.
Sometimes, when the air felt stuffy, I sat by the window to “photosynthesize.”
There was a flower garden below, and I thought—
‘That spot would be great for planting lettuce.’ 😂
Every day felt so peaceful and fulfilling.
Even when I spent half the day lying in bed, nobody said a thing.
Ahh… so perfect.
Maybe I’ll just stay here forever, even after the story ends.

Meanwhile, Outside Her Room…
Outside, the maids moved stealthily toward my room, faces wrapped with cloths like secret agents.
“Today, we have to do it.”
“Will she resist? It’s like she’s glued to her bed…”
“She moved fine during breakfast. We can do it.”
“Can someone really stay in their room for this long?”
“Maybe she locked herself in because she made a mistake?”
The maids exchanged nervous glances.
“She’s not going to… die or anything, right?”
“Let’s just be extra nice to her. She’s way kinder than the last young lady.”
They nodded firmly.
“Once the Count returns, everything will be fine anyway.”
“But for now, we must clean that room.”
With determined faces, they knocked on my door.
“Eh? Why?”
I heard my own confused voice from inside.
“Miss, we’re coming in!”
Operation: Clean the Room
The maids burst into my room and dragged me out of bed.
“Wait—what are you doing?!”
They didn’t answer — just pushed me into a steaming bathroom.
“Please take a bath! Or would you like us to help you?”
“No, no, I can do it myself!”
When I peeked out, one maid was tearing down the curtains, another was rolling up the rug.
No… my perfect lighting, humidity, and cozy atmosphere…!
Goodbye, my peaceful nest.
After my bath, the room looked sparkling clean and way too bright.
I trembled as I stepped toward my bed.
“Wasn’t today not cleaning day?”
Before I could even sit down, Ruri and Yurie grabbed me and sat me at the vanity table.
“Miss, the Count will be home today. And from now on, you must practice dressing up, even when staying at home.”
“But I’ll just be in my room…”
The moment I said that, their eyes turned sharp.
“You might’ve been fine in the countryside, but now you’re a proper capital noble. No excuses!”
I shut my mouth.
‘Wait, who’s the servant here?’
Then Ruri brought out a dress and said,
“Oh, by the way, a party invitation arrived.”
The moment she said “party,” Yurie’s eyes sparkled.
“We’ll have to get a new dress made!”
“And new hair accessories and makeup, too!”
“What about shoes? Let’s check what’s trending!”
They sounded more excited than I was — no, they sounded like they were the ones going.
I finally muttered,
“Do I really have to go?”
“What do you mean? Of course you do!”
“It’s hosted by the Crown Prince himself!”
“All the noble ladies will be there!”
“It’s the biggest event in years!”
Their rapid-fire questions left me speechless.
“I just… feel like I’ll be sick that day.”
“We haven’t told you the date yet, Miss.”
“…Oh. Right.”
“I mean, I have… a party allergy. You know, allergies?”
“Oh, we know what allergies are. But you’ve never been to a party before, so how do you know you’re allergic?”
“….”
They didn’t wait for an answer.
“You have to go.”
“You’ll feel better once you get to the palace.”
“And if you’re sick, just take medicine. We’ll call a doctor!”
I was speechless.
“You guys are seriously too much…”
But they couldn’t hear me — too busy chatting.
“We’ll make our lady the prettiest one there!”
“This is going to be so fun!”
In the mirror, I saw my own wilted expression.
Poor me… I have to find a way to escape.
They styled my hair half-up and pinned it with pearls, then dressed me in a yellow gown.
Looking in the mirror, I sighed and forced a smile.
‘Still… I am pretty.’
Just then, there was a knock knock at the door —
and the door slowly opened.
