CHAPTER 01

Vivian looked down at her fingers for a moment, then slowly lifted her head.

The bright light from the chandelier shone on the man’s handsome face.
His broad shoulders and perfect body made him very popular among the young noble ladies in the capital.
His dreamy purple eyes and light-colored hair that gently covered his forehead made him stand out even more.

On top of that, he had something others could never have—noble blood.

The man carefully cut the steak and placed it in front of Vivian. Then, he looked straight into her eyes.

His purple eyes, which showed no emotion, curved slightly.

“Eat. I haven’t seen you eat well lately.”

Vivian stared at the perfectly cut pieces of meat with a blank expression.

He was the type of person who couldn’t stand even the smallest mess.

He hated anything that was out of his control.

And yet, Vivian was about to do something he would definitely hate.

“I’m not hungry.”

The man, now cutting his own steak, raised an eyebrow.

“You don’t like the food?”

“It’s not that, Samuel.”

Samuel Rubentas.
He had just become the new emperor of the Rubentas Empire that very day.

He had defeated all his half-brothers to take the throne—his long-time dream. Because of this, he was in a slightly better mood than usual.

And starting tomorrow, he would be even busier.

That’s exactly why Vivian chose today.

“Then what is it?”

“I have something to say.”

Vivian lifted her head and gave a faint smile.

“Hm?”

Samuel crossed his arms, silently telling her to speak.

He leaned back in his chair, showing his calm but strong presence.

“…It’s about us.”

“Just say it. What are you trying to say?”

Samuel frowned a little. He didn’t like people who hesitated.

If it were anyone else, he would’ve already left the room in frustration.
But because it was Vivian, he was being patient.

That kind of quiet kindness was the reason she had hesitated until now.

But now, it was over.

“I think it’s time to end this.”

Samuel’s calm expression broke.

So I did mean something to you after all… At least that’s a small comfort.

Vivian looked at his shocked face, then lowered her gaze to her fingertips, which were starting to glow and disappear into light.

She didn’t have much time left.

Samuel’s wife. The Crown Princess.

It was time to throw away that title and finally end this marriage.

“Let’s get a divorce, Samuel.”

“Vivian!”

Samuel’s face twisted in pain as he reached out to her disappearing body.

You finally show that face… at the very end.

Vivian smiled bitterly.

Then, she said the final words.

“Forget me.”

After a short pause, she added one last thing.

“That’s my wish.”

Once she disappeared, another woman would take her place by Samuel’s side anyway.

Besides, her powers never worked on Samuel because of his special condition.

So, all she needed to do was erase his memories of her.

Once that was done, no one would come looking for her again.

I didn’t even have to call it a wish…

She didn’t know why she said it.

Vivian stared at Samuel without blinking.

Even if he would forget her, she wanted to remember his face—just this once.

And the next day, Vivian disappeared without leaving a single trace.
