“Let’s get a divorce, Richard.”
Aileen had entered a marriage contract with Richard —she would create magic stones to restore her collapsing family, and he would help her in exchange for part of those stones.
It was supposed to be a simple, practical arrangement.
So she thought ending it would be easy.
But then—
“Contract? So what about it?” he said, grabbing her wrist.
His eyes were sharp — as if asking for a divorce was dangerous.
“Don’t tell me… you’ve found another man already?”
It was clear that if she brought up divorce again, there would be trouble.
It started as a contract marriage, so why won’t he let her go?
Wasn’t it supposed to be over?
“It’s not over,” he said coldly. “You’re not going anywhere. Not now, not ever.”
