Summary
“Let’s get a divorce, Richard.”
Aileen wanted to create a magic stone to revive her family, which was on the brink of ruin.
Richard agreed to help her, in exchange for receiving a portion of that stone.
So, they entered into a contract marriage — for each other’s benefit.
She thought it would be easy to end things later.
But—
“Contract? So what about it?”
He caught her before she could leave.
“Don’t tell me… you’ve found another man already?”
The look in his eyes warned her that bringing up divorce again would be dangerous.
It began as a contract relationship — so why won’t he let her go now?
Wasn’t our marriage supposed to be over?
“It’s not over,” he said. “You’re not going anywhere. From now on — for the rest of your life.”
