Chapter 63
When I go to see Mother, I want to bring her something as a get-well gift.
Maybe I should ask Mariana.
“Mariana, I want to give Mother something, but what do you think would be good?”
“Hmm…”
Mariana thought for a moment.
“How about giving her something you like, my lady? I’m sure Lady Flora would be delighted.”
“You think so? Hmm… Ah! What about cookies?”
“That sounds lovely. I think she would really enjoy that.”
“If that’s the case, why not make them yourself, my lady!?”
Lucy, who had been listening to our conversation, chimed in with her suggestion.
“Homemade!?”
But… I’ve never made cookies before.
“In that case, how about explaining the situation to the head chef and making them together?”
Mariana added.
“You’re right! If I make them with the head chef, I might actually be able to pull it off!”
Maybe I can also give some to the servants who always help me out… and to Father, too.
Mariana and the others are always taking care of me, after all.
“Mariana, could you prepare a lot of wrapping paper and ribbons for me?”
“What will you be using them for, my lady?”
“Ehehe. That’s a secret for later!”
Tiana smiled brightly.
“Lady Tiana, I look forward to working with you today. I’m Allen, the head chef.”
“Thank you for helping me even though you’re busy!”
“Not at all, my lady. I’m honored that you’re relying on me. Let’s make some delicious cookies together.”
Allen has always taken care of my meals and health; his build shows he’s well-trained.
“Now then, my lady, could you please stir this?”
“Okay!”
‘My lady, please stand here.’
‘My lady, please use this.’
‘My lady~!’
Since we were making a large batch of cookies, several other cooks helped sincerely, too. Thanks to that, it took much less time than if it had just been the two of us.
“Yay! They’re done!”
They might not be good enough to sell, but for my first try, they actually turned out pretty well. Some got a little burnt, though.
“You did wonderfully, my lady. Let’s taste one.”
I picked up one of the misshapen ones and tried it.
“Oh! It’s delicious!”
“It really is. You did an excellent job.”
We made the dough, shaped it, and baked it.
Even though it was a simple process, it took a lot of time.
But I’m glad—they turned out good enough to give to others.
“My lady, I’ve prepared the wrapping bags.”
“Thank you, Mariana!”
As a token of my gratitude, I’ll give cookies to everyone who’s been kind to me.
Feeling a flutter of excitement in her heart, Tiana wrapped up all the cookies with care.
