Chapter 46
The duke had announced that he would hold a grand birthday party for Tiana.
The story had already deviated quite a bit from the novel’s original plot.
“I agree with Father’s opinion!”
Ellie immediately voiced her support for the duke.
“I’ve also heard the rumors about Tiana, and they didn’t make me feel good. I think it’s a great idea to change the public’s impression of her. I’m in favor of making a big announcement about the party.”
Gilbert also agreed.
I wonder what Liam will say. We’ve gotten closer recently, but would he agree to something so troublesome?
“…I think it’s a good idea too. Lately, Tiana’s atmosphere and personality are completely different from before.”
I guess that means everyone’s really thinking of me, right?
I’m not certain yet, but for the duke to say such a thing probably means he’s at least a little interested in me now.
Still, suddenly holding a birthday party makes me incredibly nervous.
Speaking in front of people and being the center of attention were things I was never good at—even in my previous life.
Within the duke’s household, I think I’ve managed to improve the way people see me, but if I go out before a large crowd, I might mess everything up.
“Um… when I stand before so many people, I get so nervous that I can’t do anything. I might make a mistake and end up disgracing the Astaire name.”
Tiana decided to be upfront and tell everyone that she might fail or make a blunder.
“Tia, it’s okay. I’ll be with you the whole time,” said Ellie.
“Yeah. I’ll be watching over you too, and if you’re in trouble, I’ll help. I’m sure my brother feels the same way.”
“Right. Even if you make a mistake, we’ll be right there with you, so don’t worry.”
I turned my gaze toward the duke.
He nodded with a serious expression. Seeing that for the first time, I felt warmth—like when I used to be with my mother in my previous life.
It felt like the warmth of family.
“Ah…”
They really think that much of me.
“Th-thank you very much.”
Tiana’s eyes welled up with tears.
She was truly happy—she never imagined everyone would say such kind things.
“Of course. We’re family, aren’t we?”
Everyone looked at her with smiles that showed they felt the same way.
Even the other servants were watching warmly—Dino, Mariana, Lucy, and Rose among them. They were all on my side.
The rest of the meal passed pleasantly, full of cheerful conversation.
That day, Tiana became certain that the effort to improve her image was progressing smoothly.
There was now one month left until Tiana’s birthday.
During that time, she would need to study harder and continue to improve herself.
