Chapter 9 – Both of Them Are So Good-Looking!

It’s already been a week since I came to this place.

The dorm mothers’ work is divided according to what each person is best at.

When something can’t be finished alone, everyone helps each other—and the knights also clean their own rooms and wash their own undergarments.

Working together like this is actually really fun, and I find it rewarding.

My duties are preparing meals and hanging the laundry.
Elga-san also helps with cooking, and during breakfast and dinner, when the amount of food is huge, other senior dorm mothers join in too.

But as for hanging the laundry—that’s my job alone.

While I’m serving or cleaning up breakfast, the laundry team washes the clothes, and I just have to hang them out to dry afterward. So it’s not hard to do by myself.

Actually, washing the clothes seems like the harder part, so I sometimes feel guilty for not helping—but apparently, since the work is divided by skill, it’s fine this way.

*

“Sibel.”

“Ah, Leo-san.”

That day, while I was hanging up a mountain of laundry in the courtyard, Leo-san called out to me.
Beside him was Vice-Captain Mirko-san.

Both Leo-san and Mirko-san are only twenty-five years old, yet they hold the positions of captain and vice-captain of the First Knight Order.
And since this is the most elite unit in the kingdom, that means they’re truly exceptional men.

“You’re doing great. That’s quite a lot of laundry,” Leo-san said with a gentle laugh.

“Thank you very much—”

—Wait.

What’s going on here!?
Is this
some kind of bonus scene from heaven!?

Both of them are a full head taller than me.

Unlike the frail Prince Marx, these two have properly trained knightly bodies—strong, firm, and powerful, with muscles that are obvious even through their uniforms!

Leo-san isn’t overly bulky—his build is just right. Absolutely perfect!
Mirko-san, on the other hand, is probably the most muscular knight in the entire order—broad and solid like a rock.

And both of them are incredibly handsome!

To have two such stunning knights suddenly appear in front of me—what kind of divine blessing is this!?

Their uniforms fit them perfectly, shining in the sunlight—they almost seemed to sparkle before my eyes.

“Uh
”

“Sibel? Are you okay?”

“Yes! It’s just
um, a little too much stimulation all at once
”

“Eh?”

“Ah, nothing! Don’t mind me.”

I quickly covered my mouth with my hand to hide my grin and turned away so they wouldn’t see my red face.

No, Sibel! Pull yourself together! You’re working right now!

Taking a deep breath, I straightened my back and faced them again.

“What brings you two here?”

“Oh, we were out on a short mission,” Leo-san said. “When we returned, we saw you working so hard on the laundry, so we thought we’d stop by.”

“Oh my!”

They came just to see me?

This must be today’s reward! Thank you, God!

“Let us give you a hand,” Leo-san said.

“Eh!?”

My heart nearly jumped out of my chest at those words.

Before I could even protest, Leo-san was already reaching for the laundry.

“Please, you must be tired from work! You should rest inside!”

“I’m not tired. It’s fine.”

“But still—”

To my amazement, Leo-san was actually very good at hanging laundry.
Then Mirko-san joined in too.

Ah
but since they’re both tall, they could easily hang towels on the highest poles that I always struggle to reach.

And somehow, just watching them do that looked
 picturesque.

Two tall, handsome knights, dressed neatly in their uniforms, swords at their hips—
hanging laundry together in the courtyard!

And not just any knights—the captain and vice-captain!

What kind of heavenly scene is this!?

Even the large shirts and towels that felt big in my hands looked small when held by their strong, broad hands.

I could honestly watch this forever.

But no, Sibel! Stop that!
Focus on your work!

“Thank you so much, you’ve been a huge help! But really, I can take care of the rest!”

“It’s faster if we do it together,” Leo-san said. “Right, Mirko?”

“Yeah, don’t worry about it,” Mirko replied casually.

“
”

Ugh
 they’re both so kind!

Fine, then! I won’t be outdone!

Motivated by their help, I picked up the pace even more, matching their rhythm and hanging as many clothes as I could—while silently thanking them for handling the higher spots.

***

“Thank you again! You really helped me today!”

“No, we should be thanking you,” Leo-san said. “Seeing how much laundry you handle alone every day makes me feel guilty.”

“Not at all! It’s nothing!”

Of course, what I wanted to say was, “It makes me happy just to hang the shirts and towels that you knights have used!”
But I kept that thought to myself. I knew how weird that would sound.

Even though they were all freshly washed and clean, of course.

“I’m glad to hear that,” Leo-san said. “You’ve been working very hard, haven’t you?”

“I still have a long way to go.”

I knew full well that the knights had much harder jobs than I did, and that compared to my seniors, I still had a lot to learn.

“You’re very humble, Sibel,” Leo said with a smile.

“No, I just mean it.”

That wasn’t false modesty—it was sincere.

“If you ever have any trouble, just tell me right away,” Leo said gently.

“Yes! Thank you very much!”

He nodded. “Good.”

His kindness and attentiveness warmed my heart.

“
Hmm.”

“Huh?”

I thought that would be the end of the conversation, but Leo-san didn’t leave.
He stood there, still looking at me, as if he wanted to say something else.

What is it, I wonder?

“
Leo, let’s go,” Mirko said.

“Ah, right. Of course. Sibel, see you later.”

“Yes!”

Finally, urged by Mirko, Leo started walking away.
But I couldn’t help wondering—did he actually have something he wanted to say to me?

Next time: Leo’s point of view!

It seems that my stepsister, not me, is actually the true saint. Because they said I bullied her, my engagement with the prince was broken off, and I was sent to work at the dormitory of the First Knight Order, which protects the remote region overrun by monsters.
And honestly, how wonderful! I’ve never told anyone this before, but I absolutely love strong, muscular knights! The prince was so skinny and not attractive at all, and my stepmother treated me terribly, so I have no regrets about leaving. So yes, I’ll gladly go to the frontier! To the knights’ dormitory! The food here is delicious, the knights are kind, cool, and amazing—I’m so happy. But it’s strange. Ever since I came, the monsters have become quieter, and everyone seems to feel better after eating my cooking.
Revenge? No need for that. Because right now, I’m perfectly happy! A romantic comedy about a cheerful, kindhearted saint who loves knights but doesn’t notice the knight commander’s affection, and the commander who, while misunderstanding her, devotedly loves her all the same.
