Episode 002
“Was my daughter always this much of a genius…?”
A dad obsessed with his daughter doesn’t care about time or place. If he thinks of his daughter, his brain just stops working.
“You said it, sir. And the fact that she tried to negotiate using a kiss? That’s some next-level thinking already!”
“Should we contact a gifted child academy or something?”
“Our brilliant young lady. She must be heaven-sent…”
No one was trying to stop him. In fact, they were just hyping him up even more.
No wonder rumors were flying around that Geumho’s people would die for the one girl born into the family in five generations.
“She’s growing up so fast… sniff…”
That’s why people called Geumho a guild full of fools—one doting dad, and 79 uncles who were just as whipped.
But honestly, it made sense.
Geum Sol-ah was like sunlight that warmed up the cold and stiff atmosphere Geumho used to have.
“Tonight’s dessert should be her favorite—Secret MyuMyu ice cream cake!”
Just as the ridiculous praise-fest was winding down—
“The gate’s energy is spiking!”
Crack crack craaack—
The once-stable rift started shaking and splitting apart.
And then, WHOOSH! A bright blue aurora shot out—signaling the gate had fully opened.
“Everyone! Get ready for battle!”
The hunters quickly took position.
Something moved deep inside the pitch-black hole.
KYYYYAAAARRR!!
Letting out a deafening roar as if it had been waiting for this moment—
A massive shape uncurled itself.
“I-It’s a dragon!!!”
Its wings spread out against the sun.
Gleaming blood-red scales. Sharp claws.
“Focus on aerial defense!!”
KYAAAAH!
The dragon let out another roar—hungry and ready to kill.
As if on cue, more dragons started pouring out of the gate.
“There are at least 50 mid-sized dragon-type monsters incoming!”
“No matter what, we CANNOT let them break past this site!!”
Just ahead was a heavily populated city.
Even a slight mistake would cause massive damage.
Geum Seonghwan loosened his tie.
BOOM!
Thunder echoed across the sky, and lightning flashed overhead—marking the start of battle.
Meanwhile, at kindergarten—recess time!
Sol-ah happily followed her friends out to the playground—then suddenly stopped.
There was a weird teddy bear sitting in the middle of the play area.
“Last time it was Pocketping. Now a bear?”
It had plastic doll eyes, but she could feel it staring at her.
‘So you’re just gonna shamelessly do this again, huh?’
Sol-ah stood with her hands on her hips and sighed deeply.
“You really thought I wouldn’t notice?”
This wasn’t the first time her overprotective “uncles” snuck into the kindergarten wearing weird costumes.
Last time, they promised never to do it again… and yet, here they were.
“The bear’s so cute!”
“So fluffy! So soft!”
Kids were already swarming the bear—it was basically the new playground star.
But Sol-ah wasn’t giving it any attention.
She even stuck out her tongue at the teddy bear.
Even though the costume had no facial expressions, she swore she could see imaginary sweat dripping down its head.
“Who wants to play Secret MyuMyu Tag?! Gather here!”
Sol-ah pulled out her ultimate weapon to distract everyone.
It was basically just a regular game of tag, but with characters from a popular anime thrown in—making it way more exciting.
“Kyaah! You’ll never catch me, you evil villain!”
“Eek! Flower Princess, stop right there!”
Tag was a hit with all the kids.
The only problem? Whoever’s “it” had to run like crazy.
And that person was always Sol-ah, who sucked at rock-paper-scissors.
“Let’s see if you can catch me!”
At this point, someone should’ve offered to switch with her, but the kids were just having too much fun running around.
“Why are they all so full of energy…?”
Sol-ah had already run around the massive field like five times.
“Huff, puff… can’t you slow down a little…?”
She wanted to just throw herself on the ground and be done with it.
But no—she had to give it her all, even in something like a silly game.
“Sol-ah’s scary…”
“Go away! I don’t wanna play with you!”
She’d worked so hard to finally build some decent friendships. She couldn’t risk ruining that.
So if she had to sweat buckets to keep the peace, then sweat she would!
Swoooosh—
Right then, as if recognizing her efforts, a cool breeze blew over and dried her sweat.
“Nice weather.”
She was feeling refreshed, but only for a second.
“Huh…?”
A shiver crawled up her spine.
There was something off about the air—a creepy, cold energy riding in on the wind.
Sol-ah froze and looked up.
“What… is that?”
Up in the sky—there was something.
Just a tiny dot, no bigger than a fingernail.
But it was getting bigger. And bigger.
It flapped massive wings.
A bird? A plane?
No way. It was way too big. And fast.
Fast?
It was flying straight toward them—fast.
Its glowing yellow eyes seemed to lock onto her.
Then—
WEEOOO! WEEOOO!
A loud siren started blaring, loud enough to shake the ground.
Dungeon Break Detected. Dungeon Break Detected.
A monster has escaped containment and is approaching Geumseong-dong.
All residents, please evacuate indoors immediately—
The broadcast didn’t even finish before—
KYYYYAAAH!!!
An ear-piercing screech echoed through the sky.
“Everyone! Get inside, now!!”
It was a dragon. No doubt about it.
Wings spread wide, roaring through the sky toward them.
“Hurry, kids!”
Teachers were rushing the children into the building.
Sol-ah needed to move too.
This playground was stupidly huge.
“Ah!”
She turned and saw Flower Princess—no, Min-ah—trip and fall behind her.
The teachers hadn’t noticed.
No time to think.
Sol-ah sprinted back without a second thought.
“Watch out!”
A giant shadow loomed overhead.
Grab!
Sol-ah yanked Min-ah’s wrist just in time.
BOOOOM!!
The ground shook violently.
A massive gust of wind knocked them back.
Sand and debris stung her skin, and she had to close her eyes.
Haaaaaah…
A hot breath washed over them.
Sol-ah opened her eyes slowly.
The first thing she saw—
Were razor-sharp fangs.
‘If it bites… it’s over.’
Drool dripped from its jaws.
The pressure from the monster was so overwhelming, her body felt frozen.
Each step it took made the ground quake.
Its neck stretched forward. Its mouth opened wide.
Hot breath scorched her skin.
Just when she braced for the worst—
“Miss Sol-ah!!”
Someone grabbed them and pulled them into a hug.
FLASH!
A blinding white light filled her vision.
KRA-KOOM!
A thunderous boom echoed through the sky.
No way…
Through squinted eyes, she saw her hair lifting from static.
“H-Huh…?”
The dragon in front of them was completely frozen—with its mouth still open.
THUD.
Its smoking body collapsed just a few feet away.
PAAAH! She let out the breath she’d been holding.
‘Whoa… that was way too close!’
Clutching her pounding heart, Sol-ah looked up.
Just then, the stormy sky flashed.
A man stood there, eyes blazing like a tiger’s.
“How dare a filthy creature lay a finger on my daughter…”
It was Geum Seonghwan.
Sol-ah’s dad.
‘H-He took down a dragon… in one hit…’
She stared at him, energy crackling around him like lightning.
He stood mid-air like he was walking on air, lit up by thunder.
The nickname ‘Zeus incarnate’ wasn’t just for show.
You could feel the raw power pouring out of him—pure rage, unfiltered.
‘So this… is Dad’s power…’
It was the first time she’d seen it for herself.
And honestly—
‘It’s awesome…!’
“Miss Sol-ah, are you okay?!”
She turned to the person hugging her—well, the bear costume hugging her.
From the voice and over-the-top reaction, it was definitely Uncle Banana.
“A bruise… on your precious cheek…!”
His costume head somehow looked like it was about to cry.
“We have to get you to safety right now!”
KYAAAAH!
The dragon that had been struck by lightning was already starting to stir.
“Our Guildmaster is seriously mad right now, so we need to get out of here ASAP. Also, first aid—”
Normally, you’d flee because of the monster.
But with Geum Seonghwan? It was the other way around.
‘His eyes… are literally on fire.’
Peeking over Uncle Banana’s shoulder, Sol-ah saw her dad’s face.
And he looked like the Grim Reaper himself had crawled out of hell.
