I Possessed a Precious Family’s Daughter
Episode 001
Geumseong-dong, Suseong-gu, Taeyang City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
A black sedan was parked quietly on the side of the road.
“This is Apple. The young lady has safely arrived at her destination.”
The man in the driver’s seat spoke into a walkie-talkie with a beep.
Wearing sunglasses, he stared at a yellow kindergarten bus parked nearby.
The bus doors opened.
Kids dressed in a mix of yellow and navy uniforms began stepping out, led by a teacher in a pink apron.
“This is Apple. Drop-off has started. Requesting tighter security.”
As soon as he spoke, two different voices responded through the device.
— Banana, moving to patrol the area.
— Carrot, no unidentified individuals within 1km.
Knock knock!
Someone suddenly knocked on the tinted window.
Knock knock knock!
When there was no response, the knocking became more aggressive.
— I know you’re in there!
A loud, angry voice shouted. The person clearly wasn’t planning to leave until the driver responded.
With a sigh, the man reluctantly rolled down the window.
“Yes? What’s the issue? Please keep it short.”
“Oh, what? ‘Keep it short~’?!”
Before the window was even halfway down, a middle-aged man shoved his finger toward it and started yelling.
“Hey! This is my spot, you know? Huh? The store right there? That’s mine! People around here know not to park here! Never seen this car before—move it, now! Hey—ACK!”
Mid-rant, the man stumbled back.
Sitting in the driver’s seat was a beast of a man in a black suit, with a huge scar across his forehead and muscles that looked like they were about to burst out of his shirt.
“Care to repeat that?”
“Uhh… I mean, it’s not like anyone owns the side of the road… hic…”
The man’s pointed finger slowly retracted into a nervous clasp.
“You done talking?”
“Y-Yes, sir! I’ll just park somewhere else. Please, carry on!”
The middle-aged man shuffled away in a panic, not daring to look back.
“…….”
The man rolled up the window and turned back toward where the kindergarten bus had been.
“Damn…”
It was already gone.
He’d gotten distracted and lost track of his target.
Scowling, he quickly grabbed the walkie-talkie.
“This is Apple. The young lady has—”
Knock knock.
Someone knocked on the window again.
The man sighed, already annoyed, and rolled it down.
“Alright, alright, I’ll move the car—”
“Samchooon!!”
“A-Ah, Young Miss!”
A little girl with black hair tied up in a red ribbon popped up, hanging off the car window.
“Ugh, I knew it! You said you wouldn’t follow me to kindergarten anymore!”
“H-How did you know I was here…?!”
He’d kept a perfect distance, hidden flawlessly for the sake of stealth.
Yet somehow, this tiny little girl had figured it out.
“You were so obvious. Did you think I wouldn’t notice?”
“As expected… the young lady’s instincts are unmatched…!”
“I told you to stop doing that… Liar! You lied to me!”
“L-Liar…”
The man clutched his mouth like he was guilty of a crime.
The girl glared at him with sharp, sassy eyes.
Despite his intimidating face and massive build, she wasn’t scared at all.
“But it’s your first time riding the kindergarten bus, so I was just worried…”
“Dad told you to, didn’t he!”
“N-No! I’m here solely out of concern for your well-being—!”
The one sweating bullets and panicking was clearly the man, not the child.
“Dummy.”
She leaned her chin on the window frame and muttered grumpily.
“If I lose all my friends again because of you guys, it’s your fault!”
“I swore loyalty to you the moment you were born! I’d do anything to make sure you have a happy life!”
“…That’s not what I meant, you know?”
She puffed out her cheeks, clearly annoyed by his dramatic response.
“I seriously can’t with you—”
Just then, a voice cut in.
“Eunhasoo Kindergarten, Class Cassiopeia, Kim Sol-ah.”
The girl was suddenly lifted into the air.
“S-Seonsaengnim…”
It was her teacher in the pink apron, helping the kids off the bus.
She held the girl gently but firmly, while Sol-ah looked around nervously.
“Sol-ah, is it okay to leave the kindergarten without telling your teacher?”
“No…”
“Do you know how worried I was? Let’s go back now.”
“…Sorry…”
“Hello, Miss Dambi!”
The man greeted her loudly. The teacher laughed and greeted him in return.
“I’ll take Sol-ah back now. Sol-ah, say goodbye to your uncle.”
“Okay…”
Sol-ah drew out the word, pouting.
“Samchoon.”
She narrowed her eyes and looked up.
What would come out of that tiny mouth this time?
“Tell Dad…”
The man gulped in anticipation.
“No kiss for him today.”
“Y-Young Miss… no…!”
The man reached out toward her in despair as she walked away holding her teacher’s hand, not even looking back.
He watched her retreating figure in silence, then slowly picked up the walkie-talkie again. His drooping eyebrows said it all.
“This is Apple.”
He spoke in a gloomy voice.
“Mission failed. Banana and Carrot, take it from here.”
— Roger that. Plan B initiated.
— Banana, ready for deployment.
Same time.
On a restricted road outside Taeyang City.
A strange, glass-like crack shimmered in the air.
A faint but growing blue light seeped through it—things were about to get serious.
“Thank you for coming on such short notice.”
“Well, it’s an A-rank dungeon break. Of course we came.”
A few hours ago, a gate that had previously been too small to attack suddenly surged in energy.
A dungeon break was about to happen—where monsters would start pouring out.
Predicted disaster level: A.
In this emergency, every combat-capable Hunter was called in.
“Then I’ll leave command to you today, Hunter Geum Seonghwan.”
The official breathed a little easier.
Seeing these mountain-sized men was oddly reassuring.
Dressed in black suits and sunglasses, their aura screamed “Geumho Guild.”
They were lucky today—Geumho had answered the emergency call.
And Geum Seonghwan himself had shown up.
The official watched him with starstruck eyes.
Was this real life?
Geum Seonghwan only dealt with high-level dungeons, so seeing him on-site was rare unless something huge was going down.
“Guildmaster, you have a call.”
Someone handed him a phone just as he finished checking the field.
[Apple]
Caller ID showed a familiar name.
Seonghwan snatched up the phone.
“Did something happen to our Sol-ah?!”
His sharp eyes now filled with worry.
“…Ah. I see. I understand…”
His face darkened.
The guild members around him grew tense too.
“No kiss today… huh.”
Everyone froze.
His quiet mumble turned their blood cold.
“G-Guildmaster… are you okay?”
This was bad.
Everyone knew how much Sol-ah’s kisses meant to Seonghwan.
Her kisses affected his mood—and his mood determined the whole guild’s vibe.
This meant a 100% chance of stormy weather in the guild today.
Thinking fast, the guild members gathered around him.
“With all due respect…”
There was only one move left.
“Miss Sol-ah is clearly a genius.”
Flattery.
“Even we have trouble detecting Team Leader Apple when he’s tailing someone!”
“Exactly! Apple is known for his excellent energy control!”
“The young lady is bound to make history one day!”
The shower of praise started to lift Seonghwan’s mood.
“Yes… our Sol-ah really is something else.”
Adorable. Lovable. A treasure.
Onlookers whispered.
“Hunter Geum Seonghwan is… smiling…?”
His lips curled.
His shoulders twitched.
The man once known as the ‘Medusa of the Battlefield’—cold, ruthless, feared by both enemies and allies—was now smiling like a man in love.
On his phone screen was the photo of a girl who looked just like him.
And she was his whole world.
