Chapter 19
If I thought about it carefully… things weren’t over yet.
If Yodala’s only goal was to steal the principal’s top-secret documents, she wouldn’t have needed to disguise herself as a maid from the Genek Merchant Group.
In the game’s main story, Episode 2 Act 7, Yodala snuck into the academy without any disguise, caused monsters to go berserk, broke into the principal’s office, stole the documents, and left.
That means Yodala had a separate reason for disguising herself as “Leah” from the Genek Merchant Group.
So, Yodala hadn’t completed all her objectives yet.
Besides stealing the top-secret documents, there was something else — some plan related to the Genek Merchant Group.
First, I need to figure out what exactly she wants to do involving the Genek Merchant Group.
I had just finished organizing my thoughts when—
“Guess this is far enough, right?”
The “Leah” in front of me suddenly spoke in Yodala’s real voice.
“Master! I missed you!”
She smiled brightly with Leah’s face and hugged me.
“How are you feeling? Have you gotten used to that body yet? Feeling any surges of youthful energy?”
Still hugging me, she leaned close to my ear… and whispered in a way that almost felt like she was licking my ear.
“If you are, then maybe…”
It was the kind of situation where most people would get strange thoughts. But me? Not even a little.
[The Aura of Seduction tries to tempt you.]
[Your Mental Strength: EX rank resists the Aura of Seduction.]
I knew exactly how horribly people ended up once they fell under this aura.
So, no chance I was giving in.
“…Yodala.”
I called her name in a cold voice.
“Che.”
She pouted like she was disappointed and stepped back.
“Guess it’s not time yet. Well, it’s been less than ten days since you came back… I’ll wait a little longer.”
“That day will never come.”
“No~ It will. I know it.”
Her eyes burned with desire.
“You can’t just hold back youth’s impulses forever. Just like I can’t hold back my love for you.”
[The Aura of Seduction tries to tempt you.]
[Your Mental Strength: EX rank resists the Aura of Seduction.]
“I’m already looking forward to it… wondering what kind of face you’ll make under me.”
Her eyes were scary — like a snake staring at a mouse.
“Oh, sorry. That’s not why I brought you here. I just… got carried away.”
Thinking she’d soured my mood, she changed to the real topic.
“Anyway, things with the Genek Merchant Group are going smoothly. You don’t need to worry about that.”
And what exactly are you trying to do with them?
I kept my face calm.
“If nothing unexpected happens, we can take control of the Genek Merchant Group within half a year.”
Take control of them?
So that’s it — just to take over the Genek Merchant Group.
You can’t conquer the world without money. Seems they were chosen as Black Night’s (Heugya’s) new money source.
But why Genek instead of the Goldion Company?
In the game, Black Night’s funding always came from Goldion, no matter which route you played.
So I expected they’d go after Goldion again. But this time, they’re targeting Genek — ranked third in the industry.
Why abandon the best and go for second-rate?
This wasn’t like them.
There had to be a reason.
“Master, how are things on your side?”
…What’s that supposed to mean?
I didn’t have enough info to answer properly, so I decided to bluff.
“It’s going according to plan.”
If her side was going well, then mine “should” be too.
“…According to plan?”
Her reaction surprised me.
Did I just say the wrong thing?
Then—
“Weren’t things going well with Rozarin Genek?”
…Huh? Where did that come from?
“I mean, you’ve been going in and out of her lab freely. I thought you’d be getting results beyond expectations… guess I was wrong.”
She tapped her chin in thought.
“So you’re saying you’re still far from becoming her lover?”
…Lover?
“In that case, I’ll have to come up with a new plan to speed things up. It’s fine if it’s a bit late, but ideally it should be done by the time we take over Genek in half a year.”
Ah. I get it now.
I understood exactly what Jeiraon’s (my past self’s) plan was.
“This job… leave it to me. I already have the perfect plan, and the perfect item for it too.”
I looked at Yodala’s bright smile… and almost laughed out loud.
Jeiraon, you crazy old man.
So he had a plan to marry Princess Aris and become Rozarin’s lover?
Is this world conquest… or building a harem? Did you lose your mind this turn?
“Then Master, I’ll finish up my work and contact you again.”
“I’ll be waiting.”
As she walked away, Yodala thought:
It really is the real Master.
He’d perfectly resisted her full-strength Aura of Seduction just now.
Only one man could do that — use intermediate magic without training, break through the principal’s insane security in ten minutes, and survive that aura: Jeiraon.
And I doubted him because of that bug, Onyx…
Her teeth clenched with anger at Onyx for manipulating her into suspecting her Master.
Master must’ve noticed right away.
He surely knew her disloyal thoughts, yet pretended not to — proof of his deep love and kindness.
Ah… Master…
She gazed up at the sky with a dreamy expression.
“I’ll repay your love, no matter what.”
Determined, she decided to complete her mission beyond 100% success.
“…First, I should wrap up the contract— wait.”
She took out a metallic egg and a barrier stone.
“The vice principal’s busy with yesterday’s mess… so I’ll give these to that vixen Rozarin first.”
These items would be the foundation to make Rozarin fall for her Master.
Master will definitely praise me.
She smiled brightly at the thought.
Later, after spending all day researching in the academy library, I stepped outside at closing time.
“Nice and cool.”
Perfect weather for a walk.
But seriously… there’s almost nothing on spirits or dragons.
I’d gone to look for info on them, but barely found anything. Either it was considered unnecessary knowledge, or there just weren’t many books at all.
If even Garam Academy’s library doesn’t have it, I guess books won’t help me.
I thought of asking the principal directly… but he was hiding the fact he’s a dragon.
Couldn’t just ask out of nowhere.
Should I ask Reaper? …No. Jeiraon’s over 500 years old — living history itself. There’s no way he wouldn’t already know about dragons or spirits. So no reason for him to investigate.
So for now, I’d have to give up.
That’s when—
— Master.
Yodala’s voice rang directly in my head.
— That extra plan I mentioned? It’s ready.
Extra plan?
Oh… the “Rozarin” thing.
— The barrier stone’s already active. The egg will hatch in 30 seconds.
Egg? What egg? A monster egg?
— Rozarin’s in her lab right now.
Rozarin. Barrier stone. Egg.
— You can decide when to “rescue” her. I’ll go finish the cleanup and prepare forged evidence.
Putting the pieces together… this was just like the Aris situation with the wyverns — manufacture danger, then have me “save” her to boost affection.
— See you later, Master.
The voice cut off. I ran straight toward Rozarin’s lab.
So much for a peaceful day…
Five minutes later, I arrived.
In the center of the room floated the barrier stone.
“An interspace barrier…? That’s rare.”
Mana swirled in a 5-meter radius around it — a sign it was absorbing all surrounding mana into a separate subspace.
So Rozarin’s trapped inside… fighting whatever hatched from that egg.
What now?
I couldn’t break the stone — destroying it would collapse the subspace and erase everything inside, including Rozarin.
Only way is to unlock the barrier.
But an interspace barrier couldn’t be unlocked from the outside.
Meaning I had to go in.
Normally, once activated, you couldn’t add people inside…
But since Yodala wanted me to save Rozarin, she must’ve left a way in.
I just had to find it.
[Your Mental Strength: EX rank draws out the ‘Dragon’s Instinct’ deep within your mind to its limits.]
If I, a man with dragon’s blood, could see the essence of magic and mana—
Where is it… the gap…
I would find it.
