Episode 6
“Ma’am, please forgive me just this once.”
Taeseok’s lips, which had been fixed in a cold gaze as he looked at Kim Doosik, curved into a slight smile.
“The person you should be apologizing to doesn’t seem to be me.”
Kim Doosik kneeled in front of Lee Seo and bowed his head.
“I’m sorry. My son caused trouble again, and I didn’t have the settlement money at hand. The moment I saw the necklace, I must have lost control. If I don’t pay the settlement money, my son will end up in jail… I’m truly sorry for causing this unpleasant situation.”
Kim Doosik’s shoulders began to shake as he wept. Lee Seo, observing him, spoke in a low voice.
“Please, get up.”
“Please, please forgive me just this once. I sincerely apologize for almost framing you as a thief.”
Lee Seo turned away from Kim Doosik and walked towards the woman.
“Apologize.”
“What?”
“You should apologize for treating me like a thief and speaking ill of me.”
“Ugh, my neck…”
“I’m the one who will grab you by the neck, so apologize properly. If not, I’ll report the footage from the CCTV, titled ‘The Tyranny of the BL Madam Who Only Cares About Money.’ What will you do?”
A small laugh escaped Taeseok’s lips as he looked at Lee Seo, and the woman, biting her lower lip, lowered her gaze and slowly spoke.
“I-I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for?”
“For treating you like a thief… for speaking ill of you, I’m sorry.”
“If that apology is sincere, then don’t ever treat people with disrespect or arrogance again. You don’t deserve it one bit.”
“I-I won’t do it again.”
The woman’s face turned pale, trembling as if she was about to collapse.
After a while, the police arrived, following Secretary Min’s report, and arrested Kim Doosik, who had hidden the necklace in his pocket. After the situation was resolved, Taeseok walked out of the hotel.
Lee Seo quickly followed him from behind.
“Excuse me.”
Taeseok, who had stopped in his tracks at the trembling voice, fixed his deep, intense eyes on Lee Seo’s face.
A breeze brushed through the air, causing both of their soft hair to sway, and the rich musk scent from him grazed Lee Seo’s nose.
“Thank you.”
Lee Seo’s body trembled slightly after a long day.
“Are you alright?”
Seeing her greeting in the light, her delicate form, Taeseok silently observed her.
“I’m alright, really, thank you.”
“Anyone would have done the same.”
“Thank you so much for helping in a situation that wasn’t easy to step into. Well, I’ll be going now.”
Taeseok’s gaze remained fixed on her as she turned to leave.
Lee Seo sighed deeply as she stepped outside the hotel.
A text message suddenly went off.
The 3 million won paid for her wedding guest work.

“I sent enough, so please make sure today’s incident doesn’t cause more trouble.”
‘Always at the end…’
An unreadable expression, a mix of sorrow and anger, flashed across Lee Seo’s face as she looked at her phone.
She quickly made a call.
[Lee Seo?]
“My friend Lee Ji-an. You’re doing well, right?”
[Why are you calling me all of a sudden? Haven’t heard from you in a while.]
“I don’t call? I’ve just been busy.”
[What’s going on?]
Ji-an quickly asked, noticing something was off in Lee Seo’s voice.
“No, nothing. I made some money today, a lot actually. So, I’m thinking of buying us some meat. I’m near your place; wanna come out?”
[What? Our dear Lee Seo is buying meat? I’ve got no reason to refuse.]
“It’s a fresh meat place down the alley next to the convenience store, so come now.”
[Got it. I’ll be out in a sec.]
Ji-an, excited by Lee Seo’s rare call, quickly changed into clothes and headed out.
A little while later…
“Here!”
Ji-an entered the restaurant and immediately checked Lee Seo’s face.
She had known Lee Seo since middle school, and despite the constant moving and changing schools, their bond had lasted. Ji-an was closer to Lee Seo than any family, knowing her inside and out, just by the look on her face.
“Tell me, what’s going on?”
“Can’t you tell just by looking at me?”
“Of course I can. You’ve got the ‘Don’t mess with me today’ vibe written all over you.”
Ji-an raised one eyebrow as she analyzed Lee Seo’s mood.
