Living in a village of slash-and-burn farmers, Baek Seol-ah goes up the mountain and, on a night of the waning moon, is chased by strange beings that emit eerie sounds. Just before they catch her—

She meets a man of striking beauty, like a ink-wash painting come to life—Hyun Ye-hyeon.
The man, who lives alone deep in the mountains, protects her and, after the night of the waning moon passes, returns her to the world of people.
