Summary
A girl who had endured a living hell set foot in the forbidden forest, Gulas.
The only desperate act a half-grown human could manage… was to propose marriage to a beast.
“Groom? Who said you could decide I’m getting married?”
He refused, saying she was too young and small for mating.
But since the Fourth Prince had taken everything from her,
there was no place left in the world for Staria to return to.
“Then… please don’t marry. Just wait for me, okay?”
Perhaps it was an irresistible “proposal for survival.”
Haska, ruler of the Murang race—beings who take on human form and awaken into their own adult beast form—
suddenly began calling himself her “troublesome” guardian.
“This castle is my territory. Everything inside belongs to me.
She’s mine, too.”
[Those awakened through the Heaven’s Luck Stone… will follow you.]
In Gulas, where weakness is a sin, Staria swore revenge.
Afraid that Haska might get hurt because of her, she wished to grow stronger.
And one day, caught in the inescapable spinning wheel of fate, her abilities began to awaken.

“Are you… kicking me out?”
She asked out of the blue, eyes shimmering with tears, and without giving him time to reply, she poured it out:
“You said you’d raise me. I’m eating well, studying hard, training my body… Are you planning to marry me off to the captain of the Holy Knights? He wouldn’t even take me…”
What lingered in her human eyes was fear—fear of being abandoned.
Haska sighed, lifted the child, and set her on the sofa.
He opened the lowest drawer of the side table, pulled out a pouch, and untied the string.
“Hand.”
Plop—something dropped into her pale little palm. Candy.
“Don’t just stare. Eat.”
The rustle of the wrapper was followed by the lump of sugar popping into her tiny mouth.
It was a king-sized candy, and one of Staria’s cheeks puffed up.
Then the other cheek puffed up in turn.
A quiet chuckle slipped from between Haska’s lips.
