I want to go home from work
퇴근하고 싶어요Synopsis
"What's your dream?"
Ever since I was a kid, whenever someone asked me that, I always had the same answer:
"A rich bum."
To fulfill my childhood dream of being a wealthy slacker, I’ve been working for 16 years straight!
Finally, I set my D-day and have been counting down the days to throw my resignation letter in my boss’s face...
"Ail, aren’t you leaving work?"
"I should. I really should… but there's just way too much to do. Hahahahaha."
Suddenly, I find myself starting over in a world I've never even heard of.
And I’m a brand-new 20-year-old recruit?!
Well, it can’t be helped. I’ll just have to run toward retirement all over again!
A new office life begins, using my Korean work experience as my only weapon.
This time… will I be able to retire in peace?

What kind of bull#### ending is this?! It’s like the author just got tired of this and was like, “Eff it, I’m out!”
What about the tribespeople! What about the Kingdom of Ain’t and relations?! What about little window jumping Melina?! Are we just going to use Ayl’s roommate and NOT give us ANYTHING on her and Rheinholdt’s relationship??!! What about Sean and Ylen? Last we saw, Ten was in a grumpy mood because Ayl was like, “We ain’t friends, bro.” We never got to understand AT ALL why that affected him so deeply.
Like, bro. We didn’t even get the cliche kiss ending. This sh#t is so freaking abrupt. She never even got to give the blue hair guy the wooden airplane model she got personally carved for him.
THERE ARE SO MANY LOOSE ENDS AND THEY DIDN’T EVEN HAVE AYL WISTFULLY THINK OF HER RETIREMENT, YOU KNOW, THE ORIGINAL END GOAL OF THIS BOOK!
I AM UNHAPPY WITH THIS ENDING AND THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT IT!
I get why it feels abrupt, but honestly, I wouldn’t call it incomplete. The author intentionally left some threads open—sometimes the point isn’t tying up every detail, but letting the world and characters breathe beyond the pages. Not every moment or relationship needs a neat ending to make the story satisfying.
But damn, SOME DO! Every relationship was left hanging, EVEN THE MAIN! Other stories may intentionally leave things open, but this one just feels lazy and uninspired.
Why even get into all these different characters’ thoughts, feelings, and motivations if we were never going to actually address them. Like, bro. If you are going to leave it soooooooooooo unfinished, at least have Ayl kiss or imply they hooked up. Don’t leave this wishy washy bullhonkey nothing ending!
I wish the author would read this, because this half-butt ending is infuriating.
