Chapter 8
I Won’t Look Randomly
Si Muye took a deep breath and obediently lay back on the ground.
He glanced at Shen Yue, feeling a little uneasy, unsure how she was going to treat him.
He only knew that S-level healing-type doctors used healing spiritual power along with medicinal support. But Shen Yue was a female, with no such spiritual power. Could she rely on medicine alone?
Just as he was wondering—
“Take off your pants.”
Four words, completely without warning.
Si Muye: “??”
Shen Yue looked at him.
“Do you want to take them off yourself, or should I do it for you?”
Si Muye froze.
“……”
What did she mean, him taking them off… or her doing it?
Shen Yue turned her gaze away and took out several silver needles, carefully measuring positions along his leg.
“I need to apply acupuncture. All the way up to your upper thigh and buttocks.”
He understood.
Si Muye’s wheat-colored skin visibly flushed red, and even his breathing turned hot.
Buttocks??
Did that mean he had to… expose everything?
His voice dropped low.
“Isn’t there another way?”
How could he possibly do something this embarrassing?
Shen Yue raised her eyes and glanced at him. His gaze was evasive, his breathing uneven.
Classic embarrassment overload.
“Relax. The first time taking off your pants in front of a doctor is always like this. Do it a few more times and you’ll get used to it.”
A few more times??
Si Muye flushed deeply, nearly exploding.
How could this woman say something so shameless with such a straight face?
What kind of beast takes off their pants in front of a female all day?
Besides, he had never heard of a healer requiring that for treatment.
But Shen Yue, as a master physician, had seen it all before. She had once treated a patient for infertility… the man had nearly died of embarrassment on the spot and demanded full anesthesia just to avoid facing her.
Right now, Si Muye looked almost exactly the same.
“If you’re really embarrassed, just close your eyes,” she added. “Pretend you can’t see anything. If you don’t see it, you won’t feel embarrassed.”
A simple philosophy: as long as you’re not embarrassed, the embarrassment belongs to someone else.
“And besides, I’m a doctor. To me, patients have no gender. I won’t look randomly.”
Unless she couldn’t help it.
Si Muye swallowed stiffly. Hearing her words, he forced himself to calm down.
For the sake of healing his leg… for regaining his peak strength…
He clenched his fists.
Fine. He’d risk it.
Taking a deep breath, he yanked his pants down.
“Do it.”
Shen Yue’s eyes instantly widened.
…Wow.
As expected of a bear… truly extraordinary.
Far beyond anything she had seen before.
Si Muye: “……”
Her gaze burned like fire.
Lies!
Didn’t she say she wouldn’t look?!
He wished he could dig a hole and bury himself. He had actually believed her nonsense.
This ugly female had tricked him on purpose!
He immediately reached to pull his pants back up, but Shen Yue reacted quickly and pressed his hand down.
“Alright, alright, I won’t look anymore. I won’t take advantage for nothing. I’ll treat your leg now.”
Si Muye: “……”
Feeling the warmth of her hand on his, his throat tightened further. Gritting his teeth, he said:
“You’d better keep your word.”
Seeing his resolute, almost martyr-like expression, Shen Yue couldn’t help but find it amusing.
A mighty bear warrior… yet so shy.
She withdrew her hand and gently pressed her fingers against his aching knee, her tone turning serious.
“Don’t worry. I really won’t look anymore.”
As if.
She pressed along his acupoints, her eyes flicking briefly—just briefly—
“It might hurt. Bear with it.”
Si Muye felt the warmth of her fingertips, his Adam’s apple moving involuntarily as he looked away.
He decided to trust her one more time.
Without hesitation, Shen Yue selected a needle and inserted it directly into his joint.
Si Muye let out a muffled groan.
Watching the slender needle pass cleanly through his knee without even a drop of blood, he was stunned.
How was that possible?
He had never seen anything pierce a beast’s body without bleeding.
His breathing tightened. At that moment, embarrassment vanished, replaced by awe.
This ugly female… was astonishing.
He stared at the needles in her hand, not daring to move, speak, or even breathe too loudly.
At the same time, hope began to rise.
Could his leg truly be healed?
Unfortunately, just as he was marveling—
He fainted.
After all, the treatment would take two hours, and Shen Yue was tired too. Letting him faint made things easier.
And besides, the pain from expelling uric acid during gout treatment was unbearable for ordinary people.
Perhaps he fainted from the pain.
Yes. That must be it.
Definitely not because she did anything.
Two hours later.
Si Muye finally woke as Shen Yue removed the needles. Looking at his leg, covered with countless needles piercing through, he sucked in a breath.
Not a single drop of blood.
Even more astonishing—
The excruciating pain that had plagued him for years… was gone.
In its place was only a tingling numbness.
Shen Yue coughed lightly, satisfied.
“You’re awake? Feeling better?”
Si Muye came back to himself.
Better? This felt incredible.
It was as if every blocked part of his body had been cleared.
Shen Yue read the answer from his expression. After removing the final needle, she stood up.
“Alright. You can put your pants back on.”
Only then did Si Muye realize he was still exposed.
Flushing deeply, he quickly turned away and grabbed his pants.
Then it hit him—
Why had he suddenly fallen asleep?
And for so long?
When she treated his… lower areas…
Had she seen everything?
As he was still panicking—
“By the way, why is there a red butterfly-shaped scar on your left butt?”
Boom.
Si Muye’s entire face turned crimson.
So she had seen it.
She only needed to treat the right side—why look at the left?!
He had been lying on his side… did she flip him over?!
Thinking of that, his blood surged and his breathing quickened.
“Who told you to look?!”
Shen Yue coughed.
“Sorry. Not intentional. I needed to treat the front too, so I turned you over for a bit.”
Si Muye: “……”
His face looked ready to drip blood.
He shot up to his feet and fled the cave at full speed.
Too embarrassing.
Absolutely suffocating.
Shen Yue watched his retreating figure and nodded in satisfaction.
That speed—clearly his leg didn’t hurt anymore.
…
Shen Yue returned to her own cave with the eggs.
She spread out the soft grass mat Si Muye had made and tidied up the space.
When the original Shen Yue had been driven out of Savage City, she had brought some daily necessities.
But most had been stolen along the way.
Looking at the cramped cave and the few remaining supplies, she knew she needed to find a better place before the cubs hatched.
Winter was coming.
In the Beast World, winters were long and brutal, with temperatures dropping to minus forty or fifty degrees. Without proper shelter, beasts living outside the cities could easily freeze to death.
She looked at the seven eggs beside her.
Shen Yue was not irresponsible.
If fate had made her a mother, then she would accept it.
She reached out and gently touched each egg.
“Little ones, I wonder what kind of beasts you are.”
Hopefully not something too strange… she really couldn’t handle that.
Just then—
One of the eggs suddenly moved.
A faint cracking sound came from the shell.
