*Regarding the Relationship Between This World and the World of Atrana
This world (our world) and Atrana are like the front and back of a book page.
Magic can only be used where spirits exist, so when mages from Atrana come here, they cannot use their magic effectively.
The Spirit King of Atrana is a god in this world.
***** Setting and Key Terms *****
· The Spirit Country, Atrana
Atrana is a small country surrounded by three nations, but it is divided into three regions: the royal capital Ruran, Renant, and Bethlehem.
Renant and Bethlehem are governed autonomously by the king’s relatives as lords.
Only males can inherit the throne, and the king’s firstborn son holds the primary right of succession.
However, it is said that a prince cannot inherit the throne unless he is acknowledged by the Spirit King upon turning 13. The Runa Blood stone, the mark of the heir, is used for this and symbolizes the succession.
· What is the Spirit King?
The king of the spirits belonging to earth, water, fire, and wind respectively. A god.
They are also called Spirit Kings or Dragons, but the actual dragons that people usually imagine are said to have gone extinct in ancient times.
Atrana is said to be a sacred place for spirits, and temples were built for each.
Currently, only the Water and Earth temples remain.
The Spirit Kings fought together under the king to defeat the Red-Haired Witch during the Calamity, and afterwards swore allegiance to the king of Atrana.
It is said that the princes of Atrana, upon reaching 13 years old before succession, visit the Spirit Kings and embark on a journey to receive their oath into the Runa Blood stone.
The names of the Spirit Kings are: Fire – Flaregoat, Water – Sealune, Wind – Sephiria, Earth – Vashramudon.
· What is Mithril? (Does not appear in the previous work)
They are often hybrids of humans and spirits, so many possess special powers, but on the other hand, some have appearances that are non-human.
Their powers are valued by those of high status, and children hone their skills from a young age to serve a good master.
Many live in Iska Village, known as the Mithril Village, but Mithril who live apart from the village alone are called Stray Mithril.
Many, upon growing up, often work freelance taking on dirty jobs.
It is rare for high-ranking royals to keep Mithril as they are considered impure, but the Prime Minister’s house keeps Mithril.
***** “Character Introduction” *****
Appeared in the previous work, "The Red-Haired Lilith"
· Lilith (Protagonist)
A lovely and handsome boy with gently wavy red hair and mismatched red and grey eyes.
After hearing he is the prince’s twin, he is concerned about being shorter than the prince. (Likely due to differences in nutritional status.)
He is adored by Sephiria, the Wind Spirit Queen, who is his foster mother.
He was born as the king’s firstborn, but because of his hair color and heterochromia, he was secretly going to be killed, only to be taken in and raised as a servant by the Wind Spirit Queen Sephiria.
Raised strictly by a watcher sent from the castle from a young age, he had his low status thoroughly ingrained in him, so he is always deferential to others and speaks overly politely.
He has excellent power as a mage since childhood and, as he frequently traveled alone for mental training from a young age, he is loved by the spirits.
· Kianaluza (Royalty)
The heir prince. Blond hair, blue eyes. Said behind his back to be an ordinary person with no royal aura whatsoever.
The king’s only son. But in truth, he is Lilith’s twin brother.
He worries, lacking confidence about whether he is truly worthy of being king.
