Chapter 5
The intense resistance had vanished, and before long, they were holding each other fiercely.
From the moment Hyejae found herself in Kyobin’s arms, she knew she would eventually melt like this.
It had always been that way.
Her mind told her she shouldn’t get too involved with Shin Kyobin, yet her body craved him uncontrollably.
It was as he had said.
It had been her past self who first confessed her feelings, and who had begged him for closeness just once.
On the night she first leaned into his arms under the influence of alcohol, Hyejae instinctively knew that escaping Kyobin’s hold would become even harder.
Their connection brought a pleasure far greater than what she had imagined.
For Hyejae, it was a mixture of pain and desire, but for Kyobin, it was all desire, without any suffering.
That was why he became more addicted to this relationship.
Even if it had begun with Hyejae, it was Kyobin who relentlessly sought her every night.
Determined to escape, Hyejae planned to cut all ties with him, even if it meant betraying Shinil Group and Chairman Shin Hyunggil, who had once been her benefactors.
“Aah… Kyobin.”
Her little escape of just over a year had come to an end.
Once again, Hyejae found herself completely under Kyobin’s control.
Even after such a long time, his touch was confident and precise, as if no time had passed.
“Huh… Kyobin…”
“Damn, calling my name excites me.”
Hyejae clutched his arm, unsure whether she was trying to push him away or if her trembling was simply the result of her own reactions.
“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
“No… I’m not…”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she shook her head violently.
She lowered her gaze, not wanting him to see her like this.
But Kyobin would not allow even that. He lifted her chin gently, forcing her to meet his eyes.
“I just wanted to see this face.”
There was a glint of intensity in his eyes.
He looked at Hyejae’s tearful expression and smiled faintly, satisfied.
“Stop it…”
“If you didn’t want this, you shouldn’t have come this far.”
His voice, tender as if trying to soothe her, contrasted with the intensity of his actions.
Her body trembled under his skilled touch, and she felt overwhelmed yet helpless to resist.
Kyobin’s attention was deliberate, finding every reaction she gave and using it to keep her in his control.
“You’re making me crazy, Hyejae. You know exactly how to do it.”
He loved the contradictions in her — rejecting him with words, yet responding so intensely to him physically.
Her skin warmed, and her emotions and desires were tangled in a way that left her conflicted.
Even as she struggled, she could not bring herself to let go.
She held him tightly, wanting to be close, even as her mind screamed for her to resist.
Perhaps what she resented most was not Kyobin himself, but her own body that betrayed her.
Their reunion lasted until dawn, filled with the intensity and tension of two people who could not escape the gravitational pull they had on each other.
