Chapter 6 Donât Move!
âAre you alrightâŠâ
Nan Xiao was startled and blurted out instinctively.
Xie Chengyu didnât answer. At that moment, Old Master Xie came out leaning on his cane, grabbing Nan Xiaoâs hand and wailing:
âXiaoxiao, our Xie family is unfortunate to have such a disgraceful descendant. Youâve been wronged!â
Xie Chengyu turned his head, his tone cold:
âWhen Ruoxinâs child is born, Iâll have him entered into the Xie family genealogy. Didnât you want an heir? Now you have one.â
âYouâyouâre deliberately saying this to anger me! Get out!â
Old Master Xie swung his cane furiously. Xie Chengyu left immediately, not sparing Nan Xiao even a single glance in the process.
Nan Xiao resisted the urge to look after him. After escorting Old Master Xie back to his room, she pulled Aunt Zhang aside and asked in a low voice:
âWhat happened?â
âYoung Master told Old Master early this morning that he was divorcing you, then said Xu Ruoxin was pregnant with his child. Thatâs what made the Old Master furious.â
Nan Xiao froze.
Xie Chengyu had just learned that Xu Ruoxin was pregnant, and already he told Old Master Xie?
He must really care for Xu Ruoxin. He couldnât bear for her to be wronged without a proper title, so he had done this.
âBut Grandpaâs healthâŠâ
âOh, Old Masterâs medical report came backânothing serious. As long as he maintains a normal diet, heâll be fine.â
Nan Xiao nodded. Xie Chengyu was a filial man. If Old Master Xieâs health were truly poor, he would never act against him like this.
Thinking so, she realized there was no need to stay in the old residence out of concern for the old manâs health. She immediately returned to the âhomeâ she shared with Xie Chengyu, intending to pack and move out quickly.
Back at the villa, Nan Xiao found the long-unused suitcase, folded her clothes one by one into it, her heart aching uncontrollably.
She was about to leave the place she had lived in for three years. Once she moved out, she and Xie Chengyu truly would have no possibility left. The thought made her chest tighten with sorrow.
Her mind drifted again to Xu Ruoxin. Old Master Xie had said âwith that actressâŠâ
So, Xu Ruoxin was Xie Chengyuâs ex-girlfriend?
Perhaps, when they were together before, Old Master Xie had disapproved of her being in the entertainment industry and forced them to split. But now, the two were back together?
They say the stomach reflects oneâs emotions. Nan Xiao, overwhelmed by these thoughts, suddenly felt a sharp twist in her gut, then nausea. She rushed to the bathroom and vomited.
She threw up everything sheâd eaten the night before. Her stomach finally felt a little better, but her clothes were soiled, and even her arms had vomit on them. She decided to strip and shower directly.
She hadnât brought a towel beforehand and couldnât wear dirty clothes back out.
After some thought, she figuredâsince she was alone in the villa anywayâsheâd just dry off with a small towel and step out naked.
Then, a shadow appeared in front of her. Before she could react, someone came head-on, and they collided with a thud.
Nan Xiao let out a short cry, instinctively pressing her hand against the manâs chest.
But their legs tangled together, and both lost balance, tumbling to the floor. Nan Xiao landed squarely on his chest.
The sudden incident terrified her. Even though it had only been a brief glimpse, she still saw clearly the man she had collided withâher husband.
Nan Xiao reacted quickly. Unsure of what to cover first, she abruptly slapped her hand over his eyes while pushing against his chest to get up.
Her frantic movements made the veins at his temple twitch.
Half a minute earlier, Xie Chengyu had been about to enter the bathroom. Just as he reached for the handle, the door opened from insideâand a flash of bare skin crashed into his arms.
The soft warmth in his embrace made his mind explode into static, leaving it nearly blank.
Then, the person in his arms began to squirm restlessly.
One delicate hand covered his eyes, while another pressed hotly against his chest.
Sweat broke out across his skin, his body tensing as he growled in a low voice:
âDonât move!â
ââŠâŠâ
The woman on top of him seemed so startled by his voice that she froze, not daring to move at all.
