“What are you doing…!”
Before Elias could finish speaking, Fresa uncapped the reagent vial and drank the medicine in one gulp.
Then she tightly grasped the thick bars with both hands.
Lycaon watched her silently with an interesting expression.
And with a crunch, the bars Fresa held bent sideways like paper.
“Wow.”
Fresa was surprised herself, not expecting the effect to be this much since she hadn’t had time to test it properly in her hurried preparation.
Of course, the human body has its limits, so 30 seconds was the maximum, but that was enough to widen the bars like this.
With one more push, she created enough space for a grown man to crawl through.
“Crazy…”
It was Amyâs voice.
There was no sign of her pretending to be cheerful and acting cute in front of others anymore.
Well, seeing such incredible strength come from the slender Fresaâs wrists, anyone would have a hard time staying calm.
Aside from Fresa and Lycaon, the other three couldnât say a word.
Elias was slightly opened-mouthed, as if he had seen a ghost.
“Hurry up and come out, Loren. We should have done this earlier.”
Fresa reached out her hand toward Loren.
Staring at her with dazed eyes, Loren hesitantly grasped her hand and slipped out through the bars.
“Miss, I… I donât know whatâs going on…”
âIâll explain everything later.”
Fresa gently brushed the dirt off Lorenâs disheveled dress.
Then, looking at her pale face, she spoke in a slightly upset tone.
Did these humans really not feed her? Why does she look so thin?”
âW-wellâŠâ
Loren glanced nervously at Elias and Amy.
It seemed she was still wary of them.
Fresa cupped Lorenâs cheeks with both hands and gazed at her intently.
âWe need to get you back quickly and feed you something delicious.â
After softly muttering this, Fresa slowly withdrew her hand and turned toward Elias.
âThis is truly a cruel act. How could you imprison a servant who worked her entire life for the estate and even starve her? I wonât forget this.â
ââŠFresa, think again. Youâre also part of the Thorpe family. If the family falls apart, youâll be in trouble too.â
Elias brushed off Fresaâs words and, without apologizing, kept repeating the same thing.
Fresa desperately wanted to escape this tiresome situation.
Anyway, the real gift for them was somewhere else, and she didnât want to waste unnecessary energy today.
âItâs about time I head back home. See you next time.â
Refining her thoughts, Fresa waved her hand leisurely.
Then, lightly holding Lorenâs hand in one, and Lycaonâs in the other, she looked at them.
Lycaon gazed at her with a strange look, then nodded once.
It was a pre-arranged signal between the two.
âFresa!â
Elias shouted with a furious and strained voice, reaching out his hand, but just as Lycaon flicked his fingers lightly, the three of them disappeared instantly from the underground prison.
Eliasâs desperate hand brushed the air as he dropped down.
âDamn it!â

Suddenly, her vision blurred, and soon the familiar scenery appeared.
It was inside Lesaâs apothecary.
âWh-what is going on…?â
Loren, exhausted and trembling, muttered as her legs gave out, collapsing onto the ground.
Fresa also felt a bit dizzy, blinking slowly as she repeated opening and closing her eyes.
âMoving with magic feels even stranger than using a scroll.â
Being able to move three people at once made Lycaon seem even more impressive.
Moreover, Lycaon looked completely at ease, as if he was accustomed to this kind of magic.
A natural exclamation of admiration escaped her lips.
âLycaon, youâre amazing. But you pushed yourself too hard today, so youâd better take good care of yourself.â
âDonât worry about it.â
Lycaon chuckled softly, gently ruffled Fresaâs hair, then withdrew his hand.
His natural manner made Fresa involuntarily giggle, saying âHeh.â
Soon, she approached Loren, lowered herself to her level, and made eye contact.
âWelcome back, Loren. I think youâll need to stay here for a while. Is that okay?â
âW-where are we…?â
Loren slowly looked around the interior of the estate, still unable to believe they had arrived at such an unfamiliar place.
If Fresa hadnât used a magic scroll herself, she probably would have felt the same.
âThis is my new home and the apothecary.â
âOh⊠so youâve been staying in a place like this all along. I wonder how lonely you must have felt, Miss.â
Lorenâs eyes reddened again as she fought back tears.
It seemed she was still quite young.
âOh, come on. Why are you crying on such a nice day? And His Royal Highness and the knight have been with you all along. You werenât alone.â
Fresa clicked her tongue briefly, then helped Loren up.
She roughly pulled her cape to wipe away her tears and said:
âLycaon, you can go home now. Thank you so much for today.â
âWhatever I did… still, I appreciate the farewell. If anything happens, come find me immediately.â
Unlike usual, Lycaon didnât suggest staying for dinner or hanging around longer.
He just looked at Fresa for a moment, said âSee you tomorrow,â and left the apothecary.
With a click and a thud, the front door closed, and Lycaonâs figure disappeared from view.
Fresa understood that he had hurriedly stepped aside so as not to disturb their time.
âHeâs really considerate â as always.â
No matter how many times she thought it, she couldnât thank Lycaon enough.
She wanted to repay him soon, in some way or another. Just then, Loren suddenly hugged Fresa tightly.
âMiss, why did you come to rescue me? If something had happened… I…â
âI canât pretend I donât know Loren. Sheâs my family.â
â…Thank you, Miss. I donât know how I can repay this kindness.â
âWhat are you talking about? I owe a mountain of debts to Loren. Youâre still far from repaying me.â
Fresa lightly embraced Loren.
Feeling her warm body, she finally relaxed her tense shoulders.
Even though she had pretended to be fine in front of Elias and Amy, the truth was that Fresa had been on edge the whole time.
She was worried that the hastily prepared potion might cause adverse side effects or that Elias might set another trap.
But they hadnât prepared anything, probably thinking Fresa would come alone.
Thanks to that, everything went smoothly, and she was able to rescue Loren safely.
After a long hug, Fresa finally pulled away.
âCome here for a moment, Loren.â
âYes? Yes.â
Fresa firmly grasped Lorenâs hand and headed toward the wardrobe.
She then stood Loren in front of the mirror and retrieved a black cloth-covered dress that had been hidden.
âIâm not sure if this will fit you. I picked it based on my intuition.â
When she removed the cloth, a gorgeous, dark green dress that suited Loren perfectly appeared.
The fabric looked luxurious at a glance, completely different from her usual simple clothes and giving off a refined atmosphere.
Loren stared in shock, blinking between Fresa and the dress.
âMiss…â
âWait, donât cry again. Thatâs not why Iâm giving this to you. Smile, Loren.â
âThank you so much. Iâm so grateful. You did all this just for me… Iâm… Iâm so happy.â
Lorenâs voice trembled uncontrollably.
She had been holding back tears to fulfill Fresaâs request, but it looked like she might cry at any moment.
Fresa silently smiled and looked at her, then gently pulled her into a light embrace with both arms.
âIâm the one who should be thankful. Sorry I couldnât come to pick you up sooner.â
Now that she had enough wealth and ability to care for Loren, she felt completely at ease.
With her eyes closed in the warm embrace, Fresa smiled softly.
It finally felt like she was truly home.
